Let's discuss certain things in our life that have happened that are completely priceless.
I just thought of it today. About seven years ago, my uncle gave me his old SNES. It may have been outdated at the time still, but the only other system I had was a Gameboy color. I used to play it huddled up on a small TV in my attic, my parents room. It was cold, but I would have a small fleece blanket around me. Today, I thought of a snowy Saturday morning in December. My mom is in the living room watching Trading Spaces of some shit. I'm upstairs in the cold attic playing Yoshi's Island, and it was fucking great. In that room in the cold attic, I played some of my favorite games ever to this day, including Super Mario World and the Donkey Kong Country series.
This aspect of gaming seems to go unnoticed with most people, even gamers themselves. Only few can appreciate the priceless aspect in games, and they are almost non-existent today. Last time I had a legitimate experience like this was last July. My best friend who moved to Texas came here for a few days. We beat Donkey Kong Country in one sitting the first night then the second the next. We were probably the only people in the world playing that game together and loving every minute of it, but we didn't care. There was something about these games that make them so great.
