Would someone be so kind as to tell me if those little dry cell 6 volt batteries have a bunch of little AA battery cells in them. Can't seem to figure out how to find out on the INTERNET.[ seems goggle takes me to wondrous useless places the last little while]

Pics would help. Kinda hard to see what we're dealing with without them.

Comon Egon, give us a break, we ain't as smart as the TBN guys.

Are you talking ignitor/fence charger battery, lantern battery for a rairroad lantern about 2x2x4" or the RayOvac lantern battery that clamps to the lanternhead with the screw terminals.

None of the 6 volts I can think of use a pile of AA cells.

Some do but most don't. About two months ago I needed some AA batteries and had an energizer 6v. Cut the top off and it had D batteries inside.
Do a battery search on YouTube and you might come up with something.

This was in an email I received. Said it was cheaper to buy one 6 volt and take it apart than buy individual AA batteries.

I tried th Goggle method but could not figure out how to find something useful.

Just one one of the ordinary lantern batteries Franz.

Well E, I went abot 95% rechargables long ago, and if you want decent AA and AAA cells go to NIMH and a charger.

Batteryjunction.com seems to have about the best deals on them right now. You want to order the ones with the highest mAh number for maximum life.

Then you get a charger like this

and you are good to go.

The lantern batterys are all various configurations od D size cells.

Of course if you buy from RadioShackup you get a AA cell with a lot of plastic around it.
