I had an unexpected hurdle to overcome on day 1 today. Yesterday some old friends dropped by, so I had someone sleeping in the same room as I. She was incredibly nice and let me set my alarm anyway though. When it went off at 5 I turned it off right away, and I heard her roll over, but I don't think she woke up.

So far I have....2.5k I think?

By some stroke of sheer insanity, I'm NaNoing this year. Or at least, I'm trying.

Unfortunately, the past few days have been a bit . . . let's say hectic for me. I'm exhausted, my brain doesn't work, my eyes don't want to stay open, and I'm less than 400 words in and already I'm stuck.

I thought the first day was supposed to be the easy one. unsure.gif

I knew I was crazy when I signed up for this.

At almost 9 months pregnant, I'm exhausted all the time and want to fall asleep as soon as I get home from work. I barely have the energy to type. Plus, Baby doesn't really like me having a laptop crowding her all the time.

But it's only November 5th. Someone tell me not to give up just yet.

Come on Miss E! You can do it! Nano is for the insane, but I know you can do it. Just see what you can do, and I'm sure it'll turn out OK.

Yay Baby. <3

My sister herself had a baby back in June, and he is the cutest little thing. =3 I wish you luck with yours, Miz E!

My obstacle? I'm horrendously behind because we only have one computer in the house right now, and my dad has decided that he'd rather play his game than let me type.

;_; So I either get up at, like, four in the morning and sneak words in, or I wait for six days until I can type again and try and catch up. sleep.gif

sorry kupan...for me 4am actually isn't a terrible time to write. Nothing else is happening, so there's no distractions. Relatively few anyway.

Last night my viruscan program discovered the computer has a virus. A full scan showed a ton of them. My mom, being the computer master, has managed to remove all but one, that apparently re-installs itself every time the computer starts up. The program catches it every time the .exe file is created, so as far as we can tell all it's doing is trying to phish us for phony viruscan software to get rid of a virus that we don't actually have, and slow down our computer. We want it gone, of course, but at least it's not destroy files...yet.

Good news though...I hit 20k today. So far I'm on track for a personal best. I'm just now getting my characters in motion on their real adventures too...I hope it's not actually so boring that it takes me 20,000 words to introduce them. I am keeping things going with some little subplots and such...

Maybe I've just been reading too much Robert Jordan.

I'd try and get on at four in the morning, actually, except my parents would probably wake up and say get off. X3

What I had planend to have a sort of a history/prologue bit of my Nano has turned into almost half the entire novel. Is that bad? If I get it all the way to 50k, then I'll just end it like that, but I'm sort of having doubts that that will happen.

I may just have to extend it all through December after I reach the 50k mark until I get the thing finished. X333

My english teacher has told the class that if anyone is insane enough to finish NaNaWriMo, they get an A+ for the semester, no matter what. <3

Seeing as I don't plan on doing my research paper, I figure I'd better get onthe ball. I've just entered the 20k stretch!

Me and NaNo? Not so much.

Baby has been stressing me out a good bit. If I got even some small amount of sleep, I'd be fine, but that doesn't seem to be happening these days, and I don't foresee it anywhere in my near future.

*sigh*

I suck.

Don't sweat it miss e. If you're missing out on sleep because of the baby, don't miss out on any more because of NaNo. Take this year off if you need to.

I hit 50k today, and my new goal is to finish my draft. The cool thing is I have the same number of plot points as I do days left in November (not counting epilogue, but it should be short). So if I can write one per day, I'll be done by the 30th!

Thanks! Actually, I totally forgot to post, but I hit it on Friday! So now that my draft is finished I can focus on editing last year's NaNo so I can take CreateSpace up on their offer in April. If anyone has tips or anything for editing, I'd love to hear them. I've never really edited anything in my life.
