I think that there needs to be a link back to the main page from both the blog and this messageboard--
trying to get back after browsing/posting gets really cumbersome when you must type the address back into the browser or click the backbutton forever... |

Cookies sound delicious!
Was going to suggest it until I found the thread in the general chatting fourm -> a clear area for introductions... Maybe a pinned thread for that and/or for stating what each person is hoping to get out of the site/community? It might help you guys figure out what sort of support to offer in an informal polling kind of way.... Wanted to add... love the range of prompts! |

I find that the inablity to use HTML is annoying as crap.
Why on earth, if someone already knows a mostly universal code (html), must we learn a new one called BB code? And if we must use the BB code, why is there no index of command codes so we know how to do things? For example, I wanted to <center> something today, and I couldn't. It was important to the message I was going to post b/c it had to do with formatting. Now, I am not posting my message b/c it won't have any impact if I cannot do this. Is there a way to get a FULL list of BB command codes posted somewhere? (The little box to the left where it has a link "BB Code Help" only has like 10 examples, so um, calling it "help" is way underrated.) |

I would agree with lelumarie.
Could there possibly be a rule about double posting? (I'm one for single posting all the way, but I am not sure about any distinct rule here on that subject.) Also, is there a forum distinctly for sharing your work? Not necessarily looking for critique, but more of a comment-type forum... |

There is now a link back to the To Boldly NaNo homepage near the top of your screen. It's right above the breadcrumb trail. We are working on making this board fancier, so that little link will be bigger and fancier at some point, but at least it's there for now.
I'll look into the BB coding system for you. I know that having so many different types of command systems is just a major pain, so I'll see what I can find out. Re: forum for open posting minus the critique... Your wish is our command! As for double posting, we'd really rather you didn't. If there's an instance where you don't know where a post goes, you can either ask us, or go ahead and post both places and let us know to take down the misplaced one. Feel free to send us a PM if you have any questions! |

In regards to the BB code there is now a full list posted here.
Still working on that spell check option! ETA: Spelling is going to be a no go until we win the lottery. It is only an option on the paid boards. We're sorry. But hey we're a forgiving group here, we don't mind spelling mistakes. |

Natalie... thanks for that list... I will try to memorize the BB quickly! (Hey if I can learn Russian/Cyrillic characters transliteration in a day, this will be cake!! PS--I tried the [ HTML ] command thing--and it posts funky when I previewed-- it doesn't work as you'd think/want it to, is my point. See? (this is a test...)
