Yes- I see that. I'm trying to capture that he is using his chin rather than his forehead. I don't know why- it's just how I see the character doing it.

(Hope this helps...)

jut
–verb (used without object)
1. to extend beyond the main body or line; project; protrude (often fol. by out): The narrow strip of land juts out into the bay.
–noun
2. something that juts out; a projecting or protruding point.
jutting
-adjective
1. extending out above or beyond a surface or boundary; "the jutting limb of a tree"; "massive projected buttresses"; "his protruding ribs"; "a pile of boards sticking over the end of his truck"
-noun
1. the act of projecting out from something [syn: protrusion]

There isn't a positive or negative connotation--it is mostly neutral. Perhaps a synonym would be appropriate if you feel that "jutting" is too harsh a word...

So I guess I should restate: have you ever heard people say "to jut their chin out"? Or he jutted his chin toward the other person?

What I'm looking for is how to capture the way the character indicated that he was talking about the other person using his chin. I am aware of the definition of the word.
