Midnight Knights

[Batman]

The Batmobile soared quickly above the dark night sky of Gotham City, carrying the dynamic duo within it.

Batman began to scrutinise the Batmobile's radar, as he began to talk outloud to no one in particular.

"It's quiet...too quiet.." he mumbled. "But that's how everything that's bad starts off like.."

[Zeta]

Zeta swerved his- well, technically, a citizen of Central City's- car to avoid a truck and hopefully dodge the NSA van in the process. Of course they would have found him here quickly- Zee had been in these parts so many times, but friends were commonly found here. He looked back into his rear view to see the the van swerve around the truck as well.

"Zeta freeze." Came a familuar voice of Agent Bennet. Of course the synthoid did the exact opposite and made a sharp left turn around a skyscraper. Only one car was traveling down this alley. And it was only this car that the robot needed: The Batmobile.

Zee dropped his hologram to reveal his metalic self as he veered violently around the Batmobile, nicking an oncoming bus and nose dive spiraling down to a balcony over view of the city, where the car crashed and burst into flames. A stunt like that would never had been made if Roe was in the car, but Zeta survived alot more. He got out and looked up at the black car, hoping that he was noticed.

[Batman]

And notice, he did. Just as Batman finished his little monologue, a car whizzed by him, and in it, he spotted the metallic frame of Zeta.

"Wh-" was all he managed to say before the car swerved and crashed, and seeing Zeta crawling out.

With barely a word, Batman set the Batmobile on auto pilot, and instantly opened the hatch and let himself drop out, spreading his wings to slow his fall until he was in front of the mechanical being.

"I don't suppose that kind of driving was due to alcoholic influence.."

[Zeta]

"I have no need to consume any food or drink, so it would not be related to alchohol." Zeta said, clearly missing the joke, "It was influenced by them." Zeta said, pointing to the NSA ship as several agents were getting ready to repel down to the balcony.

"They still believe that I was reprogramed."

[Robin]

After the swerving and the car and the seeing of Zeta - something Robin had never encountered - the girl had a feeling they were in for a very eventful night. Eyes wide, she dropped out near Terry, her own small glider snapping out to slow her fall. "What's going on here?"

...oh. Soldiers. That was pleasant. Tonight, it seemed, was definitely going to be an eventful night...

[Batman]

Batman listened to Zeta's words, and mentally shook his head. These NSA creeps were starting to really get him down.

Understanding perfectly what he needed to do, Batman simply turned around to face the pursuers...and stood perfectly still, with his most intimidating expression on his face. Maybe there was a chance they'd get the hint....

[Zeta]

As if a direct result of the stare, a laser blast fired to the balcony, blasting a chunk of the concreat to bits. Zeta looked up, opened his wrist blaster, and returned fire, hitting the van with force enough to shake it up, causing the agents who were repelling to swing back and forth slightly causing them to loose sight of the target as the goggles they were using to see through holograms. Zeta turned as the ship wobbled and rushed past the duo. "Run!" Was all he managed to say.

[Batman]

Batman's eyes widened, and instinctively used his rockets and boosted himself out of harm's way as the van went hurtling pass him.

"So much for that approach..." he muttered to himself, landing as he prepared for the inevitable rush of agents.

[Robin]

No rockets to assist, but the Robin suit was equipped for avoidance as well, with a special grav boot that let her jump out of the way and quite a distance, clinging to the wall with the claws on her gloves and grips on the bottoms of the boots.

"There's so many!" She furrowed her brow, looking back at Batman. "I don't think we're gonna make curfew!"

[Batman]

"We'll think of a good excuse," Batman quipped, half-jokingly, as he prepared for a good round of fisticuffs. Nothing like blowing off steam...
