New Moon, (Continued from "First Date")

Rex raised a brow and then looked her in the eyes for a moment before looking away, "Well-- I thank you.. for trusting me.." He looked back over at her once more. "I mean, you a very-- respectful woman, no man..should.. disrespect your strength..or will.."
He looked and sounded nervous as he spoke those words. He wasn't sure if it was the right way to respond to her comment or not, he also didn't want to sound like an idiot when he wasn't.
Just breath Rex and let it come to you like it always does. He told himself as he tapped his index finger gently on the table for a moment. "You are also..very beautiful not just physically, but by personality.. as well.."

Olivia blinked a couple of times at his comment, and surprisingly, her cheeks turned a little bit red. After a moment or two, she ducked her head, laying down her menu, and a surprisingly shy smile crossed her face. "That's very nice of you to say, Rex. Thank you."

She lifted her head after a moment, pointing at him, seeming to have regained her composure. "And don't you dare sell yourself short. You've saved my tail on the field more times than I can count. I would trust you with my life... perhaps more with you than any of the others. And yes... that includes Jason, bless his heart."

Rex tilted his head slightly to the side as he realized that he actually caused her to blush, however was complete caught off guard about how quickly she regained her composure and started her remarks about him.
All he could do is smile nervously like a school boy and glance to the side,"I only do my job, Olivia. After all, we are all a team and we all do our part."
He glanced toward her and his nervous smile just broke to a slight smirk, perhaps a bit more of a serious look in his eyes, "And I owe much to Jason, after all-- he is perhaps, the best of us, and my own experience around him, he is far better then I am. By sheer will and moral strength." He shook his head a little, "Though lately-- he has been perhaps to hard on himself and it has me slightly concerned that.. hm, never-mind."

He didn't realize just how open he just became to Olivia. However, Jason was he his oldest and best friend within the League and perhaps for the longest time, his only friend.
However Rex knew that whatever was going on in Jason's head was holding him back,and perhaps his old friend, was trying to hard.

At the mention of Jason's recent attitude, Olivia pursed her lips. It was pretty hard to ignore. The son of Krypton's Last Son was uneasily distant lately; a real shock for those who knew Jason personally. The young man, before his mother had passed away, had been so energetic, if not a little bit shy. Then, after Lois's death, he'd lost touch with the only person who could have grieved with him, and neither could hold all the blame.

With no one to turn to, Jason had withdrawn into himself instead and focused on his work.

"It's Kal, you know," she commented softly. "He really misses his dad... and who can blame him? After Lois died..."

Rex nodded softly. He looked lost in thought for a moment and closed his eyes. He knew it had to do with his father and his mother, however, he could never truely relate to the pain fully that his best friend must have been feeling.
"I'm sure he'll be fine though--" though softly spoken he followed the comment, "--I hope.."

Olivia gave a quiet smile, reaching over to pat Rex's hand lightly. "You're right. He will be."

She leaned back with a deep sigh then, glancing up at the maitre'd who approached, and ordered for both of them. The man nodded and slipped off without a word. Her brow raised and she grinned brilliantly, leaning over to whisper to Rex. "He didn't even card me."

Rex smirked lightly, "Well, you do look much older then your true age, Olivia. I do believe that is-- a plus."
He looked down for a moment before glancing over at her once more, "So-- why don't you tell me something about yourself."
It was a simple question, and perhaps he may have already known some things, however this seem like the best time then any to find out.
