One of the more important sides to a abortion debate is not whether abortion laws should be in place, but who has the final say in these matters in other words who decision is it whether abortion is ultimately wrong. You will often get three basic answers to this question : Many people will justify their thinking by saying society (social issue) agrees or disagrees with abortion. Others say that a higher power or their own personal feeling dictate how they feel on the issue (morally). However most fall into the middle category and prefer to point out the best side of both issues this person will generally note that while their personal feelings are X they feel abortion is X because in their heart they know its right or wrong and society agrees with them so they use societies agreement with their views to affirm.
My question is : what should be the deciding method? Who should make the judgment call ? Should it be you and/or God or society or some hybrid combo or is there something I have missed here that doesn’t involve either side?
So vote and use this as your meter: Moral - God/religion or personal feeling. Social- government or popular opinion. Neither- something not listed here. Both- a combo of both Moral and Social issues.
Once we have all this nonsense worked out then we can start actually debating the issue knowing where everybody stands.
