We will see how much interest and the winner can have a Gnoblar Tower award. Im game
w3rm - April 13, 2010 04:00 PM (GMT)
Ok cool I get some rules together. I was thinking a bunch of Gnoblars holding an gladiatorial arena to lure adventurers there and snatch thier thrinkets.
Cain GoldJaw - June 12, 2010 03:38 PM (GMT)

Cain GoldJaw - Defender Of Fu-Tong

N/A
i am no longer using this character.
w3rm - July 20, 2010 03:41 PM (GMT)
No because say first fight you bet all your money. Then the next fight youll have 200. tif you bet smartyly your money shoots up pretty quick.
Flux - July 20, 2010 03:45 PM (GMT)
yeah but there's only 8 players how much money can you make?
also do you bet on other peoples fights or just your own?
w3rm - July 20, 2010 03:47 PM (GMT)
You can bet on any fight. You can even bet against your own fighter!
Flux - July 20, 2010 07:19 PM (GMT)
there's not much point in betting against your guy as you said the fights are to the death - so even if i do win some cash, i'm dead what am i supposed to do with it?
i noticed that you ask for item special abilities to be entered - do you want me to do that, even though the stuff i'm using are gnoblar items so you obviously know what they are, or is that just for other races?
in the battle will you be rolling all of the dice and keeping track of everything like they do in those online RPGs (see UnderEmpire site for more info)
or will you trust everyone to report truthfully their dice rolls and hope everyone plays fair
or will you use a dice log where it automatically records everyones dice rolls and posts them to avoid cheating. (please don't use this though - i hate them and have no idea how to use them)
... but it's completely up to you :D
:ph43r:
w3rm - July 20, 2010 10:40 PM (GMT)
Effectively theres two games. The betting game and the fightin game. There are some advantages to betting and spending coins after your fighter dies.
Say some other person is going to win the betting game if a certain faighter wins. So you buy an assassin or a thief so that your bet is more likely to win.
And since its gnoblar stuff your good on stats and items.
And I will be doing the rolling.

He might be not with in the rules, if he's not please tell me.
Flux - July 21, 2010 09:52 AM (GMT)
why did you choose a noble? why not a highborn?(i assume HE get them as well as DE?)
P.S. i don't see any reason why it would be outside the rules although it's up w3rm of course.
w3rm - July 21, 2010 04:49 PM (GMT)
No hes good. Just put in the post how you wish to use your power dice. BTW this is 8th edition.
Flux - July 21, 2010 07:14 PM (GMT)
yeah okay but if i don't understand it someone may need to explain as i don't have the 8th ed rulebook. (one week before 8th came out i started warhammer, but didn't join any sites - i had no idea 8th was coming, i wasted £35 on the 7th ed rulebook :( )
Malatith - July 22, 2010 07:37 AM (GMT)
I'm sorry he has a two plus armour save because the armour of caledor can't be increased by any means.
And the prince (I'm not dark elves!) in 150 pts while the noble is 85, and since I can use lord magic equipment i didn't see the point in getting him.
Flux - July 22, 2010 01:35 PM (GMT)
good point i guess, i see that their stats are obviusly more magic centered than the druchii's most of whom prefer physical combat :D

Just saying the sword master champion can sometimes best most heroes and some lords.

Acuatley we can be very combat orientated, I just wanted some magic (first time I've used it)
Flux - July 27, 2010 11:24 AM (GMT)
oh okay then...
i get the feeling i'm going to lose, i'm up against a magic oriented elf and a gnoblar on top of a Rhinox, can i please change my character a little??? :(
w3rm - July 28, 2010 01:17 AM (GMT)
Sure feel free to change your charchter!
Does anyone mind if I enter my own charachter?

And that toughness test (I've got t-3 not good)
Rhinox_rider - July 28, 2010 02:41 AM (GMT)
i dont think anyone will mind but for your matches someone else should roll the dice not that we dont trust you
Flux - July 28, 2010 07:05 AM (GMT)
ha! good point Rhinox
also i'll post my new upgraded character later today. :D
Flux - July 28, 2010 01:53 PM (GMT)
before i introduce my new character i would just like to explain my reasons for changing, as malatith is playing a magical elf and W3rm is using a herald of tzench i think that an anti-magic character would be better than an anti-combat one that i had before, so here he is my NEW character...
--------------------------------------------------------
Name: Lord Skog The Magic Resistant & Sir Bob The-Not-Quite-There.
Type: Head Honcho(45)
Special Rules:
Lucky Little Gits (do i still get D6 Re-rolls?)
Largely Insignificant (doesn't matter as i'm the only one on my team)
GreenSkins (does that mean i'm scared of Malatith?)
5+ Ward Save (red stone)
5+ Armour Save (light armour & shield)
(4) Magic Resistance (3 thief stones & red stone)
Equipment:
3 Thief Stones(45)
Red Stone(30)
Ogre Tooth(20)
Light Armour(2)
Shield(2)
Sling(6)
Extra Hand Weapon(4)
total cost - 154
Appearances:
Skog: around 3ft tall, more muscular than a normal Gnobbo, bigger nose & ears, necklace of magical Trinkets, gnoblar loincloth, unhealthy light completion - possibly due to constant close proximity to magic items.
Sir Bob: a pigback Knight who wears a small helmet, a gnoblar loin cloth and a blue cape that looks like a bretonian banner.
Background: Skog the dung-eater led his horde in a glorious revolution against his ogre masters and surprisingly - won. however during the fight his mind was permanently damaged when he fought a Slaughter-master and had the Brain-Gobbler spell cast on him.
it was so powerful that even after the battle was long over Skog was still having visions of monsters hiding in every shadow. Understandably this caused him to become even more paranoid and develop several types of nervous disorders.
over a (very long) period of time the visions gradually faded away until only one remained - the image of a pigback Knight who told Skog his name was Sir Bob, he also introduced his Pig-Gnoblar Clip-Clop who for some reason kept hitting 2 halves of coconuts together when he walked...
Bob advised the now totally insane Lord Skog that if he were to collect lots of magical items he would never have to endure the destruction of whatever shreds of sanity he still possessed, Skog agreed and from the Scrappers in his horde he got all the thief stones, red stones, purple stones, ogre teeth, lucky dice and anything else remotely magical (as well as a whole horde of objects that his gnoblars told their gullible leader were magical, but actually weren't) and so the now magic-proof Skog began to make plans...
3 years later a fleet of thousands of rafts full of over 15,000 gnoblar sailed towards Ulthuan with Skog at their head, determined to destroy what he considered the most magical place in the world.
barely 2 weeks after landing on Ulthuan's shores his army was annihilated and he and the few survivors hurriedly grabbed their rafts and left before the Ulthuan patrols could find them.
months later and still plagued by the vision of Sir Bob, "Lord" Skog began to enter pit fights and hire himself out as an anti-magic assassin (he still had his horde of magic items).
Then one day as he was walking through one of the many shanty towns in the Goldtooth stronghold he noticed a poster advertising a pit fight that was being launched by a Tzench Herald called Hzektap, he also noticed that the reward for winning was massive but that was not what made him look closer at the poster - it was a name written under the heading "finalists" it was him, Malatith Of Caledor, the general that had lead the Asur army that destroyed his horde and wreaked his life.
so Skog signed up for regional tryouts and easily killed the other contestants, soon he was on his way to the heart of the empire where the Chaos Warlord was hosting his championship...
IT WAS TIME FOR REVENGE...
----------------------------------------------------------------------
P.S. Malatith i hope you don't mind me using your character in my fluff :)
P.P.S. if anyone is wondering about the two halves of coconuts, i got the idea from Monty Python and the Holy Grail
Malatith - July 29, 2010 02:42 AM (GMT)
yeah i noticed the cocanuts, though were they dropped off by a europien swallow or an african swallow?
I don't care (I'm kinda annoyed it took two weeks to destroy a gnoblar army)
And magic resistance four and all that anti magic gear (I'm only level one) Is sir bob and clip clop real?

I was re-reading it and I was thinking because of the 8th ed rules does that mean I get re-rolls because of my high initiative
Ps: sorry for double posting
Flux - July 29, 2010 05:40 AM (GMT)
it took two weeks cause they kept running away and hiding in bushes :D
i'm all not really sure how exactly anti-magic works for some reason i can't find it in the rulebook, if anyone could tell me what page the info's on (in 7th ed) it would be very useful.
no, they're just delusions who hate elves :D
P.S. will this start soon as no one else seems to want to join...
Malatith - July 30, 2010 01:30 AM (GMT)
About page 106-108
And is it just me or are you out to get my elves?
Flux - July 30, 2010 04:35 AM (GMT)
er... maybe... although i'll try attack w3rm's tzench guy as well - i just want that rhinox rider out of the way cause there is no way i can beat that (after all - what use is magic res against a guy who can't use magic)
also - thanks for the page :D
Malatith - July 30, 2010 05:59 AM (GMT)
I agree w3rm should take him on.
Since w3rm is playing mabye lolo or some one could roll the dice?
Flux - July 30, 2010 06:23 AM (GMT)
the problem is that we'd need someone who is active quite a lot, i haven't been here long so is lolo active a lot?
Malatith - July 30, 2010 06:33 AM (GMT)
Technically he is the admin and creater. but not as much as us.
Flux - July 30, 2010 01:11 PM (GMT)
is there anyone who is active quite a lot and is not part of this fight?
w3rm - July 30, 2010 09:33 PM (GMT)
Yeah he hasnt really seemed to be active lately... Ah well.
If you guys really want someone else to roll my charachter then thats fine. But it seems like it would just be a pain. I have a lot of arena of death experience so it makes sense that I roll the fights. If you guys really care then I wont roll for my guy but I wouldnt cheat.
SO we have
Rhinox Rider
w3rm
Flux
Malith right?
Malatith - July 31, 2010 02:51 AM (GMT)
MalATITH (Mal-a-tith) Mabye Grubbi could come in?
I don't really care if you roll for yourself, I'm waiting for the island of blood to get the rule book.
