Board Guidelines
Although this message board was created for story-sharing and discussing, it's also a place for mingling with other people. Admins and moderators will try be lax with the rules (with certain things), but I urge you follow them, anyway. If worse comes to worse, I and the rest of the staff will be forced to use our powers to regulate the posting, in the form of locking/editing/deleting posts and warning/banning members. But surely, the rules are simple and easy to follow, so I trust that you all will follow them. Here are the guidelines...
Spamming: "SPAM" stands for "Stupid, Pointless, Annoying Messages", and it has the effect of clogging up the message board. The sight of spam can frustrate members who want to read certain topics. It "dirties-up" the message board as a whole, and it makes jobs for the staff a lot harder. Although some light spamming is allowed in most forums and topics, it's best to try to avoid spamming as much as possible. By spamming conistently, against the wishes or cautions of the staff, members may recieve a warning. Inappropriate things: You know what I'm talking about. "Inappropriate things" means porn, hentai, etc. The posting of such things will merit an automatic banning from the message board. So don't do it. Flaming: "Flaming" means attacking another member in such a way that they may be "let-down" or offended. Verbal taunts or threats that makes other members feel uncomfortable is considered flaming. If the member who is recieving the flame doesn't mind, and if other members don't mind, then the "flame" will be disregarded. However, if a flame occurs, and if the flame affects any of the members, warnings will be issued. Swearing: Keep the swearing down to a minimum if possible. There will be no word filters in use because of the censoring issue with stories. But please, keep it down. Double-posting: Unless necessary, don't double-post. Signatures: Try to keep your signatures short. 5 inches on the computer screen is the maximum. Quality of posts: Now, I know that many of you are bad with spelling and grammer, but PLEASE try your best. We all make mistakes once in a while, but not all the time. This IS a writing board after all. I won't enforce this rule unless it gets to the point that I have to strain my mind just to make sense of something. Besides, practicing good spelling and grammar will help your writing skill... =P Requesting: Now, I know that every one of us wants people to read and review their stories at some point or another. And I assure you, they will be read and reviewed given time. But please DON'T openly request for reviews, and absolutely do NOT complain if people aren't reading or reviewing your stories. Doing so repeatedly may merit a warning. Koala created a board for you to do so: the Story Board sub forum, in the Writer's Corner. Please don't do so anywhere else. Where to post your stories: In the fortress, there may be multiple potential boards for a story to go in. Say for instance, say you have a fantasical mystery (fantasy/mystery). You can post the story in either of those forums...it's up to you. Try to match it with the forum it's most like, though. In the case of a fantastical fan-fiction or fantastical poem, you can post them in either forum if you choose so. Just remember that where you post it may merit different views from your readers. But please DON'T post the same story twice in two different places. Thank you for your time reading this. Now have fun in the message board! =D (Note: If any of the moderators are abusing their powers, then please let me know.) ~Doctor Hosted for free by InvisionFree (Terms of Use: Updated 7/7/05) | Powered by Invision Power Board v1.3 Final © 2003 IPS, Inc.
