Well now that I have finished Fallout 3 and seen how pointless the ending is, and how short the game is, I have decided to do a (hopefully) total conversion of Fallout 3.
At the moment its going to be using the same models and textures and things because I can't model for crap and I'm limited to recolors of textures.

But I currently need a good idea for the world.
I'm thinking to keep the post-nuclear war theme and keep the vault idea, just change it up a bit.

The Character Generation Stage might be a bit annoying to do, but I think I can re-script all of that into a standard Character Generator without all the fancy intro bits.

But tell me what you think and if you would be willing to help.
Even just ideas will help lots.

I think that the Fallout Engine is PERFECT for RIFTS. If you have a chance, google it, or check out Palladiumbooks.com. Basically it is Earth in a Post Apoc era full of Magic, Tech and Crazy shit all around. The Killing of BILLIONS of souls all at once created RIFTS (Rips in time and space) all accross the Earth allowing D-Bees (Dimensional Beings) to come to Earth. Humans are scarce, weak (Except for those in the Coalition States) and are FIGHTING to try to make themselfs at home on thier planet that has been overrun by Mutant beings, Aliens, Magic and the forces of Nature. EPIC RPG for pen and paper. WOULD LOVE to see a game of it....though I KNOW it would be HARD as hell. But the thing I like about Fallout is the Power Armor. THats what Rifts uses too....so...

Yeah the thing is for that we would need a kick ass skinner and modeler, im a half-ass re-skinner and can make some goodish maps, and I doubt I could rescript magic into the game.
But I was thinking maybe to strip out the vault experiment and enclave and everything and make it a alternate Fallout universe mod, or do something along those lines. would be simple and easy. and we could do it effectivly.

Right now im making a small mod Vault-52 Basically its going to see if I can change the character generation areas so a new game spawns you at adult rather than birth.

I have the Vault situated 4 levels under ground under a cliff, the cliff has a narrow gourge that would let you move only single file to the entrance to the vault.

Also the Vault has lighting in a dark green colour over the whole thing and will have white light only where its needed. To fit it into the Vault Experiment it will be testing to see whether society can survive in a mono-hue environment. It was due to be opened 500 years after it was closed.

I will post up pics later once the area is a bit more fleshed out.
