Guidelines for Firefly RPG: We are set in the future when there are many inhabital planets for human kind to live on. The only three known languages are English, Chinese and Sign Language. In this roleplay you are either on a ship or planet side if you are on a ship you have to state if you are captain, piolet, medic, mechanic, weapons specialst, or first mate. Each character is good at one weapon or another (doesn't have to be just one but no more than five unless you are the weapons specialist). You have to have a name for your ship unless you join someone else's. For this the different ships are on a hunt for different earth that was artifacts including; art of different kinds, electronics, books, and historical data. The captain has to state what it is their ship is looking for. They get clues from different people planet side. The People Planet Side will have to state what planet the live on, what kind of society they live in and what two areas they specialize in as far as earth that was artifacts. They can be truth tellers or liars when asked for information. It doesn't have to be constant but if they want to throw someone off track that is just fine. A persone who is planet side can also decide they are the protector of a certain artifact and can challenge someone's worthiness to gather it. Please do not send a ship to a planet that has not been established unless you give the person a type of map to follow that will send them on to their next clue or the artifact. Planets are 1,2, or 3 weeks apart (a week is 2 pages) You can't get there instantly. On ship interactions are strongly encouraged. NOTE: if the ship doesn't have a piolet then the captain can fly for a while. Captains also know a little bit about mechanics and fixing their ship but a mechanic is more needed than a piolet. A first mate can be a mechanic or piolet as well. Duel jobs are possible except for the medic and captain. The captain is also responsible for describing their ship.

Belladonna has been flying for about two weeks on her new ship when she starts to have some engine trouble and is forced to land on the planet Marva. She is trying to fix her mechanic problems, gets frustrated and throws her broken compression coil which she had been working on while sitting on top of her ship. (Belladonna's ship is an older model Dragonfly it is a medium sized ship and the fastest out there. It has an engine room, mess room for food, dueling platform, several sleeping quarters, cockpit for the piolet to sit, a working shuttle on starboard side, and a large storage pit that has hundreds of small hiding places)

Juntao took a deep breath, inhaling the moist morning air. Carefully he adjusted the brakes on his old-school motor bike. It had taken him months to salvage all of the proper parts, many of which were old and questionable in use.

As he reached for his trusty monkey-wrench, out of nowhere he felt a SMACK as something struck him in the back of his head. Crying out in suprise and pain he fell to the ground. A second later he got up, rubbing his head and muttering curses in Chinese. "What the hell was that?!" Quickly he looked around and found a damaged compression coil a few feet away. Cautiously he picked up the coil and examined it. "How in the world..." he looked up and saw a woman sitting on an old ship. Seeing as she was the only other person in the field, she must have been the one who had hit him with the hardware.

Grouchy, though slightly composed, he approached the woman and called "Yo! What the hell did you throw this at me for?!"

"I threw the piece of gose compression coil I couldn't get it to work. What does it look like I threw are you that stupid" Belladonna replies in frustration "Anyway who the hell do you think you are yelling at like that" Belladonna proceeds to jump down from her ship and steps up into the strangers face.

[Curst Saden]

Juntao flinched at the woman's outburst. "I'll yell at whoever hits me in the head with a compression coil! Or anything else potentially lethal for that matter!" He tensed himself. This woman was obviously agressive, and he had learned the hard way on several occasions never to base one's fighting ability purely on gender.

[Synn1985]

"Its not like I was TRYING to hit you with the compression coil'" Belladonna leashes herself a moment "Would you just give it back to me I need to get this thing working again." *reaches for her katana* "I could always force it back from you so what will it be you (in chinese) idiotic bastard"

[Curst Saden]

If this woman were a man, Juntao would have socked her in the face. But seeing as she was a woman his morals added some reinforcement to his impulse. "You want it back, here, TAKE IT!" He shoved the coil into her hands. He was about to launch an insult in Chinsese when he noticed the ship and how it was smouldering. "What the...how the hell did you get here alive?" His mechanical instincts took over, all traces of the incident dissapearing from his mind. He stood wide-eyed, taking in the ship. What a mess...

"Uh... thanks" Damn I really wanted to fight the guy "I flew how else was I supposed to get to this gose planet? I would have gotten further if the stupid thing wouldn't have started shaking like a mad cheetah" This guy really isn't bright "What do you know something about ships?" Course I highly doubt it

[Curst Saden]

"Do I know...girl, I'm not a half-bad mechanic." he waved his monkey-wrench in her face annoyingly. "You probably didn't have the coils set up right. You want me to have a look?" His tone was irritated, but he really did want to have a look at the ship. He loved working with vehicles, and a ship would be a nice break from fixing elderly people's hovercrafts.

"Well it looks like you know what end you know how to hold atleast. I had the coil exactly how they told me it was supposed to fit it's not my fault they gave me an older one. What will you do to me if I let you on my ship I don't have payment right now and I won't let you take it out of me" I really hope this guy isn't some kind of psycho Belladonna really could use a mechanic... and the company.

[Curst Saden]

First, Juntao snorted at her explination for the coils. "Bah, whoever showed you how to wire that thing was an idiot." Then his eyes widened in suprise when she asked what he would do to her. "What the...lady what kind of man do you think I am? Seriously? I'm not that big of a jackass. God! I wouldn't...I-I wouldn't ask a woman to..." He looked away for a second, a little embaressed. He didn't like it when someone questioned his honor.

At this time, he saw a chance at what he had been seeking for so long: escape.

Juntao leaned close, not intimately, but just so that no one else would hear. Urgently, he said "Look, you look like you need a mechanic. I need to get away from this boaring rock. Just take me with you. I don't care where we go, I don't care what mission. I don't care so much about money. Give me ten minutes to grab my stuff and let me join the party and I'll make this ship fly without killing you. I'll make her fly 50% faster. Hell, I'll make her tap-dance and sing if you want me to! I mean...I'll respect your space, so long as you respect mine, and I'm pretty good at following orders...most of the time...so uh, what do you say...hey I never got your name." Anxiously he waited for her response.

rolls her eyes "Geeze you didn't have to get all prissy about it. I think you are a male kind of male thats all. I just know what they think" They all want one thing and one thing only he can't hide that "And I didn't use the word jackass either! Look stop being all red honestly your going to embarrass yourself. What do you mean make her fly without killing me?! Purple Sphynx would never kill me she just got a little uppity thats all. Hmm... If you promise to behave and follow orders then well... then yes I can use a mechanic" Looks a little unconvertible she actually had to admit that. "By the way what do you mean 50% faster?! This here is already the fastest ship out there! Please don't make her tap dance.... no singing either ships just aren't supposed to do that. I can't promise much money. You see I am on a bit of a quest a fascination really I want to find the last print of the old Earth that was painting of the Mona Lisa. Not sure what I'll do with it but I just gotta see if for myself. I'll give you your ten minutes" not like I can actually go anywhere "Don't worry your prissy little head I'll respect you plenty as long as you stay in line.... And... my name is Belladonna. What is yours?" Looks at expectently I hope he doesn't chicken out and run

Juntao wasn't so embaressed until she pointed out his urgent-means of asking for help. He blushed, flinching as he said "Prissy?! Why I oughta...whatever, like I said I don't care about money, I'll get the ship up and running and help you find the Mona Manna, or whatever you called that thing as long as I get a spot in your crew. Don't worry, I'll fallow orders. I'll be a good boy." He gave a half-mischevious smile and then said "The name's Juntao, but you can just call me Jun if you want." He backed away, holding out his arms as if to say "Tada!" Then he said "So, can I grab my stuff or do you want me to have a look at the Sphinx first?"

Shakes her head and hides a grin. "Well you were being prissy I can't help it if there is actually a decent male out there. Its called the MONA LISA geeze not even a hard word. Jun hmmm that fits." Gives a sly smile "Well as I said I can use a mechanic and right now it is just me and Purple Sphynx so if you want.... you could also be my first mate. You'd have your own sleeping quarters a place to put your.... things and meals." I'd still like to smack him just to see how he responds "Why don't you grab your stuff first I'll sit here a sec you'll have plenty of time to take a look when you get back"

[Curst Saden]

Juntao nodded, a pleased smile on his face. "I'll be back before you can blink." He nodded his head in a very light bow, keeping his eyes on her, and then turned around and walked off at a brisk pace. When he was a considerable distance away he ran to his little house nearby. He grabbed his suitcase from under his bed and crammed his clothes into it. As he packed he thought of Belladonna. Aggressive and annoying as she was, he did find her somewhat attractive, but he quickly pushed the thought from his mind. Those were dangerous thoughts to have involving that person.

Finished with his clothes, he grabbed his weapons and keepsakes, a few books and a special small box he kept locked and packed them all in another case. Stepping onto his porch took one last look at his little house and then turned back, ready to leave it for good. He strapped his bags onto his old motor bike and packed his old box of tools, placing that on the bike as weel. He then wheeled the rickety thing to the ship. He would have preferred to ride it over just to dazzle his new captain, but he'd have to fix it later. Once he arrived he said "Ok, I'm ready to go. So, where do I get to crash? You don't mind if I bring ol' Bessy with me, do you?" He patted the bike thoughtfully.

Sees Juntao approaching and reluctantly looks up from her book. "Ah you did find your way back and here I thought you had gotten lost. I blinked several times your timing is a little inaccurate." Glanced at the motor bike "You actually named that thing? Eh whatever no one said you had any sanity. Yes you can bring it we have plenty of room." Gets up and marks her page. "I'll show you where you can crash" Walks briskly to the sleeping quarters and points to the first one on the left. "Here this one is yours mine is straight across but don't you be getting any ideas. One you'll never get in and two I can kill you in less than three seconds flat." Opens his door for him "It is a good size all your stuff will fit just fine." Notices a book on top of Juntao's stuff. Smiles "Hey any chance I can read that some time? I'll be in the engine room if you get lost just yell." Turns heel and starts heading to the engine room with a slight smile on her face. well he doesn't seem completely useless this might actually be fun

[Curst Saden]

Juntao rolled his eyes and muttered "I already told you I'm not that kind of guy..." he stumbled into his room and took a brief glance. "Hm...nice...that'll work." Belladonna then asked about the book. Intrigued he picked it up and said "It's The Art of War, by...I don't know who the hell wrote it, the cover is kinda worn...but yeah it's a good read." He clutched it to his chest protectively. "Mine, no touch! Maybe I'll let you have a look, when I'm done..." He then dropped his things and followed Bella to the engine room, tool kit in hand. "Ok, just what kind of shinanigans have your compression coils been up to?"

[Synn1985]

"Wow you can actually read that is a little bit impressive. So your telling me I'll be able to read it in about seven or eight years then?" Chuckles silently "My compression coil didn't cause any other damage it just got uppity I already told you! I realize your not that kind of a guy well so you say but a lady can never be too careful. Oh by the way do you duel?" Oh I hope he duels that would be oh so much fun! Gets to the engine room "Well here she is just don't break anything."

[Curst Saden]

"Yes, you probably will get the book in about that long. I am protective over my books. It'll take me a year to read it and then seven to work up the courage to let you have it." He looked at the engine room and then said "Don't tempt me," when she told him not to break anything. "God, haven't gotten a request this vague since that old bag asked me to fix his breaks on the hovercraft..." he shuddered with annoyance and approached the engines. "Ok, what do we haveDAMN! What the hell happened here?!" He gaped at the condition of the engines. "Ok, I'm gonna have to swap some damaged parts out, adjust a few things...whoo this is one ugly mess...are your weapons systems in this bad of a condtion?"

[Synn1985]

"Will it seriously take you a year to read that book? Wow you are slow... don't worry I am the last person who would harm a book they are precious. Vague what do you mean vague I told you it is the compression coil I just requested you didn't harm her while attempting to fix it." Looks around her engine room "I'll tell you what happened here I had to rewire a few things she runs just fine now.... well did until the gorram compression coil went all uppity on me. And just so you know my breaks are fine!!!" Looks at him with an innocent look "What weapons system? All I have are my usual weapons they are always more than enough."
