This is from July but I was waiting to get the video ready. My sister-in-law and her family rented a cabin at a lake just a few miles from us. Main goal was a weeks vacation on the lake for them but she was kind enough to rent a pontoon with plans of getting me on the water for a day. I was pretty excited about the prospect because it's been a couple years since I've had a boat underneath me.

Anyway, we got to the cabin but the lake was really really low because of the drought. Consequently they couldn't get the pontoon near the landing for me to load. We didn't figure that out to be a big issue until we looked at the 30 yards of deep, very wheelchair unfriendly, sugar sand between where I was and the dock. There was no way my power chair would make it. My wife tried the manual chair but even without me in it, bogged down 6 inches in the sand.

We puzzled over several different ideas when all of a sudden somebody walked across the beach pulling a wagon with great big tires. The folks helping out were quick to borrow it and the rest is history. There are some absolutely super people left in the world! I am so thankful to my sister-in-law, her family, and a whole bunch of strangers with strong backs and big hearts!

Bluegills and rock bass but wouldn't you know my nephews and nieces caught every one. Come to think of it, I never touched a rod but had a ball. wink.gif

Great to see that video Don. Yes, despite all the bad out there, there are still some good folks out there willing to help a fellow out. It is nice and helps renew my faith in my fellow man knowing there are still some good people out there.

I know you had a great time. It must have made your heart glow to realize that there are still good hearted people left in this world who will help another without thinking of what they might get out of it!
