Okay,..... it had just stopped raining but we knew it was about to start again. I told, Cari, if one stepped out I was going to bust it's shoulders because with the bad weather, and darkness not far away, it would be impossible to track. The little, .243, did the job. I was shooting my 100gr. Hornady SP reloads backed by, 41grs. IMR 4831. Both shoulders were jelly. :o This is the fattest deer I've killed in these mountains. There was an inch of hard fat on her sides and butt. Taking this one out really made, Denny, the landowner, very happy. :D
No huntin' today. Both Cari and I, are so sore we can't move. :whew:

Thanks, fellers. This is my 3rd. deer for the season. Should be plenty for us. I will however try to help my buddy get one more for his freezer. He's always right there to help me with things. Plus I still have 3 more tags. 1 buck, and 2 doe.
