Title: Important & needs to be said

Thanksgiving is less than 10 days away; Christmas about a month after that. Television ads are promoting the Yule in hopes of motivating shoppers to buy. Commercialism is good for the economy yet I feel it detracts from what Christmas is all about. Jesus Christ was born to give mankind the opportunity for eternal life and so His birth is truly a joyous event. Happy Holidays may be a cordial greeting some people use to encompass the entire season from Thanksgiving to New Year’s Day and all events in between; but every time I hear that greeting substituted for Merry Christmas it rubs me wrong. Now I am not feeling particularly festive again this year. Last year here we didn’t celebrate Thanksgiving, Christmas, nor did we toast the New Year and we won’t again this year. Most of you are aware of our reasoning. Still as a sportsman and economist, I strongly believe in re-cycling. So I say to anyone on this site who needs a boost of holiday cheer, take an unused portion of mine. My hope is that you find the Faith to utter those two words that epitomize the soul and only reason we come together in celebration. Please keep the Christ in Christmas. May God love and keep you all. Merry Christmas to you and your family.
