Title: Banana Pepers
HunterFisher - February 5, 2011 12:14 AM (GMT)
Anyone know of a seed company where I could order some, banana peper seeds? The sweet ones. NOT the hot ones. Nothing like fried pepers and scrambled egg sandwich,................ w/ mayo. There hard to find down here.

Just go to yahoo.com and put sweet banana pepper seeds in the search box. I did and there are lots.

Kenny, look up a catalog by the name of "totally Tomatoes". They carry only tomato and pepper seed varieties.

It's the same way here, Mark. I love, NC. but their is no differation of foods. It's either, fried or deepfried. I want to get back up to the northeast shore just one more time before I cash in. Their are so many different nationalities up there and they all make great tasting foods. Dang, I'm gittin' hungry just thinkin' of it.

Same here Kenny. The food I eat here can only be described as "safe". A bit tasty at times but nothing you want to eat everyday. When I lived in Bayonne, NJ in the Ny-NJ Metro area I took for granted all the great varieties of food to be had.
I too hope I can get back for a taste of that cooking. I really miss it.

Found some seeds but they say conditions must humid. That leaves out this area. We're high and dry. No humidity at all. :dunno:

Create your own humidity.
Just water them and throw a plastic sheet over them.
Or, can't you go to the store and get 1/2 dozen bananas and peppers and grind them together?

Chucks has yt Kenny. I know many people who have success usinf qhatever kind of container that will fit over the plant. But make sure you watch on very hot days as you can also burn them. Do a little research.

You won't believe this but,...... Cari and I went to, Lowe's, today and found a little kit that grows veggies. They had all different kinds. The one we got grows 3 tomato plants and,3, Sweet Banana Peper plants. Just what we need for our deck garden. Of course we have to start them inside. Should be fun. :)

hope you have success with them Kenny.

UPDATE:
Our banana pepers are doing great. Today we transplanted them into a bigger pot. Yes, Chuck, soon as the sun comes out I'll take a pic of them and the tomatos and let you post them. And thanks for all the help you give me, bud. Someday I'll learn to do it myself. Trouble is, everytime I learn how to do it, Kodak, changes the way to do things. :dunno:

I'm going out now to take a pic of the tomatos and banana peppers that, Cari and I have grown on our deck. One tomato has already turned red. Maybe if my 'ol buddy, Chuck, has the time, he'll post them for me. :D

Your garden looks great. Our tomatoes are minature size compared to yours. The peppers here are just not growing. Since the storms passed we have had almost no rain. Everything but the weeds and grass are drying up.

Well, the garden is now history. Had a great crop off that little back deck farm. Cut down the last of it this morning. Got a deep cut on my middle finger doing it. Been trying to stop the bleeding all day. I'm tired of stitches. Just tried some, New Skin, on it. No leaks so far. :dunno:
