Title: No cocking rope
HunterFisher - October 10, 2010 12:02 AM (GMT)
Was all dressed and ready to leave yesterday afternoon. Went to put my xbow in it's case and realized my cocking rope wasn't there. Cari and I searched hi and low, no rope. I was determined I was going. I took my bow, put my foot in the stir-up, grabbed my bowstring , took a deep breath, and click. The bow was cocked. Thats the first time I've ever been able to do that. I was kind of, ''in shock.'' I thought before I did it,.... bend your knees and back and pull the string as you straighten your legs and back. It's really someting what you can do if you put your mind to it.
But I still can't find my cocking rope. :dunno:

Doable but if you're going to do it by hand, mark the center of the string with a magic marker so you cock it in the same place every time. Little bit to one side and it really affects accuracy.

You're so right, Don. I marked it the day I bought it.

That's a good sign Kenny...You're getting stronger. Old age is not affecting you.
Did you get a deer?

Just bought a 3 pak of the new, ''Shrink Fletch,'' for my xbow arrows. For those of you that never heard of them, they are a plastic sleeve, with plastic fletchings. All you have to do is slip them over your cleaned arrow shaft, and dip them in boiling water. They instantly shrink tight to the arrow. All the hunting shows have been advertising them, and some of the guys over at, CBN, have had excellent results with them. Hope I get my new cocking rope tomorrow so I can see how they fly.
