General questions about The Aristocracy

What is The Aristocracy?
If you don’t know then you clearly haven’t read the thread The Aristocracy, and my RULES. Go and read it, please. =]

What time are the roleplays set in?
Everything is set during the French Revolution. Don’t know anything about the French Revolution? Have a look here for information on it. Please take heed of the dates, they will help when you create your character.

What creatures can I play?
The creatures inside The Aristocracy are usually vampires and demons, yet angels/archangels are also included. Mortals are not really a part of the underground world, with the exception of Seral, the founder. Any humans that find themselves inside The Aristocracy probably won’t last that long. It is a place for the undead, really. Animal mutations or werewolves etc are not allowed.

I read somewhere that a vampire was eating and drinking. What's going on here?
The vampires on The Aristocracy, with the exception of the Twilight vampires are able to eat, drink and also sleep. However, it's not necessary for them to be able to live. They can survive perfectly happily without any of the three. Sunlight also is unable to harm them - they can go out in the day time without any worries about getting burnt. It's just practical, sorry if you don't agree with it.

Can my character bring its prey inside of The Aristocracy?
No, they feed outside of The Aristocracy’s walls at all times.

Help! I know nothing about vampires/demons/angels!
Fear not, there are plenty of people here who do. =] Feel free to message either of the admin with questions, or ask another member. Try to take note of how active they are around the site, as some people have been pulled from our midst by real life matters.



Questions about roleplaying

What are roleplays?
Role plays are almost like a story put together by two or more people. It’s helpful to discuss a potential roleplay [or RP] with someone who you think would also enjoy it. That way you can work out a plot that works for you both. However, some people choose to put a post up to begin the RP and allow others to enter and do as they wish. Either way is successful, but with the latter, don’t be surprised if they do something you didn’t expect!

Am I allowed to god-mod?
No.

What is god-modding?
When you control another user’s character for them. So during your post you say something that directly implies that the character belonging to another user does something that the user has not agreed to. For example:

That’s a very simple example, but do you get my point? If the user controlling Mary has already said what happens, then the user controlling Ann cannot do anything about it. This causes arguments. The only exception is when you have thoroughly discussed the RP with the other user, and they have given you permission do control their character’s actions for a short period of time. If this is the case then there will be no arguments. If any arguments occur and the users are unable to settle it themselves, then the admin will intervene.

How many users can be in an RP at once?
As many people as you can collect to partake. =]

If I have more than one character on The Aristocracy then can I use more than one in the RP?
Yes, you can use as many as you like. Giving others warning before and making it clear who exactly is speaking is a good idea.

Can I swear?
Moderate swearing in character is allowed, but out of character it is generally frowned upon. Emphasis can be made in different ways – we’re all mature enough to have worked that out by now.

Can I use chat speak?
NO!

What’s all this about a password/leaving a specific word in my intro. post?
If you had read The Aristocracy, and my RULES. then you would know.

What happens if I do forbidden things?
Then the mods/admins will contact you with a warning. If you continue to do the things you have been asked to refrain from doing then you will be suspended, then eventually banned if you carry on. It’s just like real life, folks! If you do bad things then you get punished.

How do I get a customised title under my name?
If we think you deserve one then you will get one. We don’t give them out on a whim.

What are the standard titles and their post count boundaries?
Human Slave – 0-9
Servant of the Vampiric – 10-29
Demonic Follower – 30-59
Astrology Student – 60-79
Teacher of the Stars – 80-109
Brothel Owner – 110-129
Holy One – 130-199
Amanae Officer – 200-349
Demonic Noble – 350-499
Vampiric Noble – 500-799
Second Leader – 800-999
First Leader – 1000+
