Oh it is.

I have to admit to buying a bootleg off ebay - a lot of my friends have got the same one.... it's very good quality and has all the eps (26) in english and japenese audio (I've been watching in english and the VAs are very good - particularly of the main characters - Jin's is just spot on).

Again, we have very few anime on tv in the UK - I would even say less than in USA. The above boxset cost me equivalent of £20 in USD although postage would be more for you guys as it was a british seller. I do buy plenty of other anime legit, so I don't feel too guilty buying the occasional bootleg.

Oh, and talking about OHSHC previously - up to eppy 22 today - and they were talking about Haruhi (the main character) looking like Souji during one of their cosplaying sessions lol - made me think of you Sushi Chi ^^;

Ok - another one to check out if you fancy - not too sure about availability to buy, but I have a couple of american friends who've got their hands on it (probably through youtube or d.load).

It's called Juuni Kokki, but it is known mostly by it's translated title - 12 Kingdoms. Based on fantasy novels by Fuyumi Ono, it is a 45 episode fantasy epic, which is based on the a world apart from ours consisting of 12 Kingdoms. Essentially, in the first episode Youko, a schoolgirl, meets an enigmatic young boy and later a beautiful man, called Keiki, who insists that she should accept his allegiance. Keiki, Youko and two friends are then attacked by a giant bird, whom Keiki asks Youko to defeat (he hands her a sword). Eventually Youko, and her two friends, are whisked away into the land with 12 Kingdoms and the anime charts Youko's story there, as well as many other stories within it. It's far too complicated an anime to explain much further - and believe me it is heavy with information. I loved it, but I can see it's not to everybody's liking. But the series is just astounding imo and despite having one of the worst final episodes I've seen, everything up to and including the penultimate ep is purely beautiful. It's fairly old, but the animation is still gorgeous, the characters are brilliant, and the storyline amazing. It's known as the Japanese equivalent of Lord Of The Rings and it's a worthy comparison (although it's not like the story if you get me). There are a few filler/repeat episodes, but they are actually remarkably still entertaining. The music is lovely too.

As far as the bishie element goes - Shoryu is hawt, Keiki is beautiful and there are plenty of other eye candy characters that you meet later in the series (I can't tell you my second fave, as it's a spoiler). Youko is one of the most complete female anime character I've seen - she's beautiful, tragic, flawed, strong, intelligent - a real rounded character... and when you do follow her story in the Twelve Kingdoms I think you feel everything alongside her.
