We're moving!! It turns out that Invisionfree wasn't really working that well for us, so we've hopped over to Proboards and are really happy with the results. All existing/potential members should CLICK HERE!! and join us! We'll be leaving this site open for a little while for our members to retrieve and transfer their posts, etc, while we get ourselves used to the move.
Sincerely, Your excited Admins XD <3 <3
Welcome to Tears of a Phoenix, a post Harry Potter Intermediate to Advanced Roleplay site. It might do you some good to take note of the fact that this place is overflowing with spoilers *hint hint*, so if you haven't read all of the books yet, have a good think about the consequences before you read through/join the site. ;] [Awwww, how nice are we! =P]
Anyway, for those of you registering, please do so with your character's FULL NAME. This means First, middle, last, e.g, TEDDY REMUS LUPIN, as you cannot alter it once you have registered. [So, no "Potterfan55" usernames and the like, please. Thankssss.]
Student Handbook All new members and potential members should come here before doing anything else on the site. Inside you will find everything you need to know before joining, e.g. the rules, story plot, a place for questions, etc. So pop in, it won't take long, I promise, and then you can experience the magic.
Character Creation This is where the magic happens! ;] Fill out the application form inside, and let's bring that character to life, shall we? And don't forget! There are plenty of canon characters available to choose from, so don't forget to check out the list of available ones first!
Character Development It's always useful (and fun) to continue to develop your chatacter, even after they've been created. So inside, we have all sorts of things to help make your character more three-dimensional, like Plot Pages, Journals, and more....
Monthly Awards! So we have a nifty little spot in the sidebar for our monthly awards. If you fancy having your name up there, then this is the place to make sure it happens. Each month, there will be a nominating period, followed by voting, for each of the categories mentioned. So if you wish to take part, keep an eye on this board! ;D

IC Cbox! The In Character chat box can be found here....
Diagon Alley The entrance to the magical shopping community of Diagon Alley is located behind The Leaky Cauldron, the right combination of taps on the wall will open a small archway, welcoming you into another world....
Knockturn Alley A small, dark passageway at the end of Diagon Alley will lead you into dangerous territory. Filled with dark wizards and dark artefacts, Knockturn Alley is not for the faint of heart....
Hogsmeade This beautiful, quaint little village just outside the castle, is one of the few wizarding villages in the country. Popular for school trips, there are plenty of shops here nestled amongst the tiny houses, and don't forget to check out the Shrieking Shack, just.... don't get too close, it's rumoured to be haunted....
King's Cross Station Make your way through the bustling train station to Platform Nine and Three Quarters. Make sure no Muggles spot you slipping through the barrier, though, that'd be a bit of major clean-up job for the ministry. Stealth, would be the key word. *hint hint*

First Year Boats First year students are required to travel across the lake to reach the castle before their sorting ceremony. Please be careful not to fall in, as the giant squid has been known to have bad moods in his time, and it's always quite a tragedy to lose new students so early in their schooling....

Carriages All students above first year travel by carriage from Hogsmeade Station to the castle. No fighting over carriages please, and if any first years are found trying to sneak into one, there will be trouble....
Dungeons The Hogwarts dungeons are quite unpleasant, yet still, Potions lessons are held down here, and it is home to the Slytherin common room and dorms, so it's not unusual to find students milling about in the dank passages. There is a rather unpleasant, yet effective Detention hall located down here, also.

Basement The basement, just below the ground floor of the castle, houses the kitchens and most notably, the Hufflepuff Common Room. It quite possibly has the cosiest atmosphere of all the floors in the castle, having a particularly homey feel about it.

Ground Floor The main level of the castle holds the Great Hall, with staircases leading to higher floors and down to the lower levels. Transfiguration lessons, and the Staff Room are also on this floor, but students aren't allowed in there, so I don't know why I'm telling you that....

First Floor The first floor of the castle is where you can find the classrooms for Muggle Studies, Defence Against the Dark Arts, and History of Magic, along with a few unused rooms.

Second Floor The second floor of the castle doesn't tend to get used much. It's mainly deserted, not holding any classes and only being inhabited by one person.... Moaning Myrtle....

Third Floor The third floor of the castle is probably one of the busiest floors in the building, housing the Hospital wing, the Trophy Room, Armor Gallery, a few secret passages, a forbidden corridor, and Charms lessons.

Fourth Floor The fourth floor of the castle is home to the Library. There is also a set of student bathrooms here (not haunted by whining ghosts), and a rather abandoned corridor that might be useful for, erm.... well, I'll let you decide what you want to use it for....

Fifth Floor The fifth floor of the castle is pretty quiet, which is why the Prefect's Bathroom can be found here nestled in amongst empty classrooms, one of which is used for Duelling Club.
Sixth Floor The sixth floor of the castle is where Arithmancy and Ancient Runes classes take place, so it's mainly inhabited by the more intelligent students of the bunch.

Seventh Floor The seventh floor of the castle has quite a few storage rooms, along with a couple of secret passages, but, none are so interesting as the Room of Requirement, which also resides here, but is unknown to many in the castle....

Quidditch Pitch Ahh, the Quidditch Pitch! All Quidditch matches and TRYOUTS are held here, along with Flying lessons for those wishing to learn how to handle a broom. And don't even try and break into the changing rooms to steal that snitch you've had your eye on.... only team members have a key. =P
Grounds The grounds at Hogwarts are vast, and it would probably take you days to explore just the parts closest to the castle, though it's always nice, on a sunny day, to spend some time lounging in the grass.... Care of Magical Creatures lessons are held out here, and the Herbology Greenhouses are only a short walk from the castle.

Whomping Willow The Whomping Willow was planted many moons ago, though not many know why, and often wonder as to the reason someone would place a huge, thrashing, deadly tree in the middle of a school.... It seems like a great idea, no? =/

Forbidden Forest The Forbidden Forest, is, well, forbidden for a reason. It would take you five minutes to get lost in there, and ten to be eaten or killed or seriously maimed by one of it's many creatures. But, please, if you're feeling reckless and suicidal, feel free to explore.
