WILLIAMS, carey l. }} of the p r e s e n t . ![]()
Full Name: Carey Lucas Monahan Nickname: None, really. Age & Birthdate: 15 & January 1st Blood Status: Halfblood Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual Alliance: The Order Canon or Original: Original Preferred House: Gryffindor
Eyes: Brown Hair: Dark Brown Height & Weight: 5'8" & 116 lbs Body Type: Very slim Notable Traits: He wears his hair longer than your average boy, but that's the way he's always liked it. Brief Description of Appearance:
"As a child, I was always being picked on for something. If not my hair, it usually had something to do with my build. Unlike most boys my age, I have very little muscle. I'm not strong, but I'm quick to suffice. No matter what I do, I simply cannot gain weight. I've come to terms with that fact, though, after about four years of trying to be something that I probably never will be. A lot of girls say they envy me, but I'm not really sure why. I can eat whatever I want and as much as I want without gaining a single pound, what they don't realize is that that is curse, not a blessing. I'm underweight for someone my height and I know it, but it doesn't bother me like it used to. It seems to bug other people more, in any case. "I'm not going to lie, I've always thought of myself as a bit feminine-looking, even without the long hair. My eyelashes are thick and long, and they outline my eyes very well. It's good enough, considering I've never liked my eyes much in themselves - a dark brown color, they've always been too common for my taste. My nose has always irked me, it's too narrow and curves slightly at the tip. I suppose I got that from my mother, too, seeing as how my father always had a very masculine look. In fact, his side of the family all have noses which take up the majority of the space on their faces. Maybe I shouldn't complain, after all." Played By: William Eugene Beckett of The Academy Is...
Likes: coffee dates, drinking, his mum, ireland, swimming, irish culture, being social, reading, writing, sugar quills, photography, painting, singing, girls, old movies, the outdoors, music, rain, fuzzy blankets, going home on holidays, defense against the dark arts, and, oddly enough, completing his homework. Dislikes: hot weather, dumb people, mean people, bugs, itchy grass, when people threaten to cut his hair, overloaded homework, quidditch mania, hot chocolate that's too hot, being surprised, when people ask or even mention his dead father, pranks. Strengths: maintaing conversations, being likeable, good at schoolwork. Weaknesses: will often let one bad thing ruin his entire day (if not week). Boggart: The loss of his mother. Patronus: a pig. Brief Description of Personality:
"I have a bit of a reputation, I must admit. Everyone seems to have heard of me, whether that is a good thing or a bad thing I'm not quite sure. I'll start off in saying that for the most part, the things people say about me aren't the least bit true. I drink a lot, and I'll admit that; I'm bloody Irish, what do you expect? I just love not having to worry about anything, and loosing a bit of control of my actions and words—I'm normally a very responsible person, and I think it's all right if I let loose every once in a while. I'm not a very obnoxious drunk, either... or so I've been told. I'm not much for remembering everything the morning after, though, which has proved problematic. A lot of the time people will assume that I'm a womanizer of sorts, but I'm really not. I may be what some call "flirtacious," but it's more like me just being friendly. I'm not trying to talk my way into anyone's pants, in fact, I'm usually incredibly sincere. I have absolutely no problem saying what I'm thinking; it makes some girls uncomfortable, but the majority of them find it romantic. I don't really care either way, if I feel something I'm going to tell them about it. I don't go through girls on a weekly basis, and I have never, ever cheated. It thorougly annoys me whenever girls are just okay with boys treating them poorly, especially if those girls happen to be my friends. And I hate the boys who treat them poorly even more. I could never be that. "I've always been a bit ahead of my class, but I'm not intimidatingly intelligent. I'm just above average I guess. I do enjoy reading, and I'm probably one of the few people in my class that goes to the library on a regular basis. I'll put an effort into my work, but on a bad day, I won't be too troubled of I decide to skip a class or two. Education is important to me, but it isn't my priority. I am my priority. I'm not going to try and please other people, because ultimately, that isn't going to help me in the long run. I do what makes me happy. And I realize that I'll be living on my own pretty soon, but I have yet to pick a career. I'm a rather indecisive person, and choosing one will probably take me a lot longer than it has everyone else. I'm not passionate about many things, unfortunately, but I do enjoy singing and painting."
Family:
Father - Lucas Monahan Siblings - None Brief Description of History:
"My parents weren't married at the time—they were never married, actually. Let's just say I wasn't exactly planned. It never really bothered me, because they were happy together and that is really what matters. I honestly think that if I hadn't been born, they wouldn't have been together as long as they were, but they got along well enough. They seemed to truly enjoy each other's company. I always knew that my father wanted to be married, but my mother isn't the type to jump to a lifetime commitment. She was scared, I think, and after my father passed, I could tell she regretted it. "I remember the moment I found out my father passed. The thought itself had never crossed my mind, not once, mostly because I wasn't very enlightened as to what he did for a living. He was an Auror, of course, and while I knew what it was, I suppose I didn't realize how dangerous it could be. It was my mother that told me, and I remember wondering why her makeup was runny and her face was so red. My mother always appeared very feminine and strong; she spent a lot of her time trying to appear a certain way, and seeing her unravel was unnerving. And then she said it. I wanted her to be, you know, pulling my leg or something, but the look on her face made me know it was the truth. It didn't hit me until few days later that I realized how much my life would change. "That year we moved to London. I began attending Hogwarts, which I quite liked as opposed to Beauxbatons. I learned a lot about my mother that I didn't really care to hear. We've always been really close, and apparently she's made a lot of mistakes that came back to haunt her. To be honest, I would've done the exact same thing if I were in her position. Things seem to be adjusting very well, though. We bought our own house earlier in the year; before that, we were living with my good friend Violet and her mother, Joey." -------------------- kerr witter [7th], gryffindor; alfie knight [5th] & violet dobler [5th]; ravenclaw boone cohen [6th], carey monahan [5th], & taylor moreau [6th]; gryffindor ![]() |
