Weather Welcome Quick Links
It is the beginning of summer. The weather is sunny with a high of 60 and a low of 55. Sylvania high school has always been known for being one of the best high schools in northern Wisconsin. Their teams were superior and they had high academic scores. Last year, on a hot June day a fire started in the school. It raged for a few hours and only left a few sections of the school undamaged. The town was devastated and when a meeting was held about rebuilding the school an idea sparked. Why don't the log off some of the woods and build a brand new school, the largest in the area. In a matter of months the school was rebuilt and was ready for the new school year. Then they got the idea to build dorms on the school grounds to share the school with everybody. Now the town is thriving thanks to the added people and this little city is becomeing well known. Welcome, to Sylvania Wisconsin where it's nothing but trees, lakes and adventure. Taylor sat up against a wall. Tears streaming down her face. A bottle of vodka in her hand as she was drowning everything away. The substance burned as it made it's way down her throat. Her mascara was running everywhere as her face was slightly blotchy. Closing her eyes she continued to drink to just numb it all away. Sobbing into the bottle she didn't want to do this but it was making her feel better.

Why was life so complicated? She had messed up. Why could she not say the words I love you? What was holding her back from saying them as she finished off the bottle as Taylro let it roll off to the side. She needed more. More to satisfy everything. More to make her feel better about herself and everything.

Stumbling from where she was she needed to get some more or she couldn't function. Tonight was going to be difficult.

((Hope you don't mind but I never put a time specification on the old thread. Plus I came up with some good ideas while I was letting my mind wander in Spanish II today. Oh and sorry it's so long it's just that I had a lot of muse for it.))

Branden was literally being dragged by the two puppies down the street. Although he didn't mind after all he wasn't out to teach them how to walk on a leash. He was looking around for Taylor. That was, if she had came down here at all, he didn't know how much longer Jordan would stay asleep. He just wanted to find Taylor and find out what the heck was holding her up. Although he was slightly worried about what was keeping her from coming back, but there was no way he would just sit around and watch Jordan get left time after time. Not right now, not when everything really mattered a lot. Sure he might be a little overprotective but still, that was his role after all. If he was in the same spot as Jordan was he knew that he would do the same thing for him. That was when he saw Taylor leaning against the wall, he literally stopped. He hadn't been expecting something like this now he just felt like he wanted to fall over. Now a ton of questions were racing through his mind and he knew that he wouldn't walk away now and pretend that this whole thing didn't happen. It was clear that she was drunk, and it had been awhile since he'd witnessed something like this. The last time had probably been when he had ended up being at the same party his brother was at and he had watched him end up getting drunk. He was the one who had dragged him back home.

He watched as she got up, there was no way she was going to slip away on him. No, not after he thinking about Jordan and the look on his face once he'd told him about meeting Taylor. There was no way he was going to let him be destroyed by Taylor if she kept this up, he knew that would happen. He quickly jogged over to her and then managed to get in front of her before looking down at the two puppies for a moment. It was a good thing they were along, perhaps they would somehow help him. "I leave Jordan, who mind you was not feeling well at all sure he's still sleeping but he keeps moving around. To find you since I know how he would be if he woke up and found you gone. It would be find if you would have been gone for a little while but what if he had woken up after you left an hour ago? He would have given up by now and possibly be avoiding talking to people, even me." He said with a stern, yet quiet tone he knew not to make a scene in front of everybody. Besides, he knew that she most likely couldn't comprehend what he was saying in the first place.

"Look, I know Jordan likes you a lot but I will not sit and watch his heart get ripped apart because you're to blind because of alcohol to see it. He trusts you, and if he were to wake up right now you might just lose that trust altogether." He said before looking down at the ground as he tried to figure out what else he could say, there was one thing that he didn't really want to say yet she had a right to know. That was, if Jordan hadn't already told her about it which he knew he probably hadn't.

"People have told me that I'm more of an older brother figure to Jordan since I keep him out of trouble a lot of the time. That's what I'm doing now alright, if it wasn't for him or that fact that I do consider you a friend who knows if I would be doing this." He said before taking a deep breath. "Miranda wasn't just hit by some random car that ran a stop light alright. She was hit by a drunk driver who was going thirty miles over the speed limit. It probably wouldn't have happened if I had just figured out a way to make her stay just a little longer." He said as he felt his voice shake before out of nowhere a tear slid down his face. He quickly wiped it away, and hoped that nobody else had seen it. Although, maybe it would help things stick in Taylors mind right now if she knew how upset he was.

Taylor looked to see Branden and then him talking to her a lot. It was kind of hard to comprehend exactly what he was saying to her. She was to damn drunk to really understand the situation. She needed to feel better. That's all she knew. Running a hand thru her hair she felt like crying at the moment. Especially when he brought up Jordan. A lump was stuck in her throat as her eyes welled up with tears. She was beginning to come back into reality and it sucked. A tear fell as she let out a sob. What was she doing? Why? Just shaking her head she didn't know what to say to him.

What was he thinking she was drunk there was no way she would be able to understand what he was saying? Hadn't he been the same way last year he could hardly comprehend what his brother had been telling him. He noticed a tear fall down her face and then the sob. He knew that bringing Jordan up probably had something to do with it but it was the truth. Jordan's trust in females was still a little unsteady and one tiny thing like waking up to find Taylor gone might turn the tables for the worse. After thinking about everything for a moment he put the leashes into this left hand and then got down to her level. "If you haven't noticed I'm the protective older brother role and best friend tole when it comes to him. I just don't want him to end up like me alright?" He said softly and knew that even if Taylor was coming back to reality she wouldn't know what he was talking about. That was probably a good thing since he didn't need her feeling sorry for him.

She was lucky that Miranda had made him promise not to hurt a girl otherwise he might have let his anger get the best of him before. Then again buried in that anger was fear, he didn't want Jordan to give up on him. The protective side of him was saying to give her more of a talking to. But the friend side said that she didn't need that right now. The next moment he was hugging her, which was saying something right there since he never hugged anybody. The last time had probably been a year ago. "I know you're probably afraid of hurting Jordan with one little thing. He's not so afraid of girls that one tiny mistake would set him off, at least not with you. He knows everybody makes mistakes, I just want to see him happy. You're part of what's made him so bouncy and like the old Jordan." He whispered and then stopped he felt Brownie move next to him but he noticed that the newly named Diego was more interested in Taylor. Maybe it was a good thing he had brought the dog after all.

Taylor felt arms around her and knew he was hugging her. She listened to him. She could somewhat understand what was going on but when one drank their senses were impaired. She was impaired not just physically but emotionally and mentally as well. She sobbed into his shoulder and nodded. Jordan. That's all she could think of. She didn't want to hurt him and drinking wasn't exactly a good thing for her to do but she had been under so much stress. "I'm sorry" she mumbled as she tried to stop crying. It just hurt....alot.

He heard Taylor sobbing, he himself felt like crying from all of the stress that he'd been under lately. Not just from Jordan either his brother had been putting pressure on him, his parents had and basically everybody he met had been doing it. In a way, Taylor had too since he had a lot of things riding on finding her and now he wasn't so sure that she would be ready to be by Jordan again. "It's alright, just let it all out it's no good holding too many things inside of you." He said quietly and then knew that they probably should be somewhere else. Yet he didn't know if Taylor could even make it to his truck which was about fifty feet down the road. His eyes wandered over to Diego again the puppy's brown eyes were focused on Taylor and a small whining noise came from him as he stared at her.

"Jordan's been one of the people who has stuck by me though everything. Even during the few days that I wouldn't even go out of my house. When I was sick last year he was sitting there next to me at least fourteen hours out of the day." He said and then gently rubbed her back, hopefully Jordan was still asleep he had left him a note saying that he would be back and not to worry about him. But he knew that Jordan would end up calling him anyway. "We should probably go somewhere that's a little more private. Can you make it to my truck it's only fifty feet away. If not then I'll carry you I promise I won't drop you I'd never do that to you." He said and knew that he too was getting a little too emotional for his liking. Yet he just couldn't help it.

Taylor wasn't exactly sure if she could make it to his truck. Her legs felt wobbly and she was just down right weak. Not just physically but mentally, emotionally, etc. She shook her head and had to laugh a bit when he said he wouldn't drop her. No she wasn't afraid that he would drop her. She was afraid she would never be able to pull herself together. Taylor had never been in a break down like this before. It just snuck up right behind her and kicked her ass.

Why was she so damn confused? Love....Jordan.. Why was this so hard? She loved Jordan but she was feeling and witnessing something else. Love was hard to find but for some reason to her it was right there. She was torn between two people she cared about. She didn't want to break hearts. 'You have to choose' she thought to herself. Taylor had to make her mind up.

"Ok, so I take that as a no would you mind holding these leashes for me. You see there is a leash law and I'd probably be breaking it if I just let them follow me. So that's my only request." He said and then shoved the ends of the leashes into his pocket for a moment before picking her up, he just prayed she wouldn't throw up on him. Not on his favorite pair of shoes if she did than Jordan would owe him, big time. Amazingly she was lighter than what he thought she would be, of course she was a cheerleader and was one of the ones that was thrown in the air. Obviously she had to be light but still, she was like picking up his younger sister they weighed about the same. Of course he still wasn't used to picking people up and Jordan only launched himself onto his back and demanded piggy back rides down hallways.

"Got any idea of where you want to go? If not then I suppose I could just drive around but not in circles, circles are boring." He said and then noticed the looks he was getting from a few people. Great, now his dad was going to find out about this that was perfect. He would just have to make up a story, having Taylor sprain her ankle seemed like a likely one. Or perhaps he was just proving to somebody that he could carry her, that didn't seem to likely though. Well, he would figure something out perhaps he could have Josh help cover for him. He probably would do that, after he found out the circumstances. Or perhaps he could get Jordan's brother into the act too. If he got those two to agree on a story then his parents would be more likely to believe it.

Taylor just nodded at his rules and regulations or whatever he was going for. She wasn't exactly thinking clearly due to her being intoxicated. Closing her eyes she leaned into him. He was just like Jordan. So she imagined Branden as Jordan. He was like her knight and shining armor. The one who swept her off her feet.

Taylor heard him ask her something and thought. Things just started popping in her mind as she was saying the most randomiest places. Like the moon, on a mountain, flying, etc. "Lake" she mumbled before she passed out.

He felt her lean into him and watched as her eyes closed. It took a moment for him to figure out what she meant by lake. Then it hit him that she had been out to the lake that his grandfather owned since it had been one of Jordan's great ideas. It had been the perfect spot to hide from Mandy and if she would have went back there it would have been tresspassing and Jordan wouldn't have hesitated to call up some legal person. He watched her pass out, great now he would just have to hope that neither puppies pulled hard enough that the leashes made their way out from his pocket. "Alright, the lake it is then." He mumbled before he began to make his way back over to where his truck was. It seemed to take ages to get even halfway there. That was because he was being carful not to jostle Taylor around. A few people were staring at him again but he knew they hadn't seen her pass out and probably thought that she was just sleeping. Well, technically she was.

Ten minutes later he was back at his truck he somehow managed to open the door and carefully set her in the front seat. He leaned over and buckled her seat belt before putting both puppies in the back seat again. Then he made his way over to the drivers side and got in before making sure his seat belt was on before making his way out to the lake. Once he got to the gate he noticed that it was open, that was odd usually it was closed. Then again, maybe one of his grandfather's old coworkers was out in the woods. He stopped once he got to the beach and first let the puppies out before going back and picking Taylor up. He set her on the ground before going back to his truck and grabbing the blanket from the backseat and covering her up with it. It wasn't that warm of day out and he didn't feel like having her be cold. After that he moved about ten feet away from her and sat down as he watched the puppies chase each other around on the beach.

Taylor began to stir from unconciousness as she slowly opened her eyes. At first things were a bit blurry but blinking her eyes a few times her sight became clear. She first saw Branden as he sat there. Sitting up she was confused as to where she was but looking around it was the lake. A smile formed on her face. "Wow this place just gets better and better" she croaked a bit as she stretched.

"Thank you" she told him. She knew what he had done for her and everything. Branden was a one of kind guy and she liked him for that.

He watched as Taylor stirred and then finally came back to the world of the living. She was right about this place getting better and better. Sure he had been coming out here ever since his grandfather had purchased the land several years ago. But still it seemed as if he noticed new things each time. Like this time for example he noticed a leaning cedar tree that was on the part of the river that flowed into the lake on the other side. Now he would have to remember that and go over there some other time and see if it was safe to be on. He was one for sitting on leaning trees over rivers, he found it relaxing. "Yeah, after my grandpa bought it people tried to buy it from him so they could build homes out here. He turned down some really hefty offers siting that this place needed to stay in the way nature intended it to be. Not to mention, this is a good fishing lake so you can bet he comes out here all time time." He said and then watched as Diego took off at a full run toward Taylor. "It looks like you've won over Diego's heart, yes I named Jordan's dog I got tired of calling him puppy." He said and watched as the puppy slid to a stop next to her sending up a pile of sand. Brownie took off running but didn't go toward Taylor the puppy ran toward him and then jumped into his lap.

"It's no problem, really we just better hope that the boss doesn't wake up." He said referring to Jordan, he knew that she probably knew who he was talking about. Actually now that he thought about it Jordan's older brother got off around this time and probably would be the one sitting there by him now. Of course, Mark probably would say something to Jordan to make him laugh that was what he usually did. Unlike his brother, Mark didn't really go to parties that much and preferred to do things with his friends even though he had a large group of them. Somehow this brought him to the conversation that he had with Taylor before, how much had she understood? Had she caught what he had said about Miranda, he now hoped that she hadn't since then she would know that he did blame himself somewhat for it happening.

Taylor nodded and gave him a smile just as Diego came rushing at her. She had to laugh as she picked up the puppy and put him in her lap as she pet him. Taylor didn't have any pets at home. Her last pet was a cat named, E.T. and well it was rather sick and sad about how he died. She wasn't going to think about that right now as she didn't tend to dwell on the past so much. That was her motto. Stay in the present and you will be alright.

"Well I'm sure he will be out for awhile seeing as he is sick" Taylor told him. She remembered a time when she was sick that she slept for a long time. Over 16 hours without waking up. She was sure that Jordan would be alright for now and that he would wake up much later. Taylor rubbed her head a bit as she had a headache. Her head throbbed a bit as she looked around some more.

Hopefully Jordan would be out for awhile and wouldn't wake up until he returned, whenever that would be. Just as long as he wasn't having any disturbing dreams or anything. Of course he had heard about the little dream Jordan had while he was out on this beach with Taylor. It shocked him that he would have such a dream and then ask if it had been real. Of course maybe Jordan had been starting to get sick that day. "I hope so, one time I slept for about twelve hours or so last year and when I woke up Jordan was reading a story out loud to my dog. Then when he noticed I was awake he talked to me for about five minutes before falling asleep. I guess he'd been up for almost twenty four hours and was reading out loud to try and stay awake." He said and wondered if he would have been able to stay up for that long perhaps if it was for Jordan he would be able to. Or even Conrad but the two didn't talk as much now that he had moved off to Ohio. Even though he said he wished he was still in Wisconsin.

"I guess that little Diego there fell for you because you were scratching his ears. Brownie's a one person dog, so don't feel discouraged if he doesn't take to you like Diego has." He said and then ran his hand down the puppy's back before picking up a stick and tossing it. The dog took off at a run for it and then happily brought it back and dropped it before the process was repeated. He was glad that the dog actually dropped the stick and didn't want him to chase him around to get it.

Taylor looked at him and nodded. "Wow. 12? Well sorry but I broke your record, dude. 16 hours" she said to Branden and smirked. "But that was because I had a lot of medicines in me and the fact it was a really bad case of the flu." She thought for a moment. "You know I wish I had your guy's friendship. It's so....strong and you guys do everything together. I had a friend like that until she moved to Florida because her dad was supposedly in the CIA which I'm not sure if that was a rumor or real" Taylor just shrugged. "Anyways, my friend and I did everything, everyday. Couldn't pry us apart at all. It's not like that anymore. No one could ever replace her or be in her position. That and I am busy as hell when it comes to school and activities."

She looked at Diego as she continued to pet him. "What can I say? I have a way with animals....sometimes." Yeah sometimes she wasn't so good with them. Like her hampster, Speedy whom she sort of let out of the cage. He was never seen again. Well not until the cat had him in it's mouth and by then it was to late. She vowed never to have pets after that.
