Dear SMTF Member,
Please see below for a free food-themed event just over the border in Dorset, learning about a small food-growing social enterprise that is very ‘low-carbon’. Spaces are now very limited so book soon if interested. Regards Matt From: Jessie Wainwright [mailto:J.Wainwright@dta.org.uk] Sent: 07 October 2009 15:10 To: Matt Day (matt@somersetrcc.org.uk); JUDGES, Daniel; Paul Delahoy (info@devontownsforum.org.uk); Sally Heard (corwall@sse.org.uk) Subject: Free Local Food Themed Event: Visit to Five Penny Farm, Dorset Hello Please find below information about a free event we have organised to help rural social and community organisations in the South West through inspiration and information, support and advice. I would be very grateful if you could forward the link and info given below to any organisations you are working with who might be interested in this opportunity. 20th October, Five Penny Farm, Dorset Survive and Thrive has organised a half day visit to Five Penny Farm in Dorset to find out how they are leading the way in providing good quality organic food to their local community at affordable prices whilst building capacity in other small food producers. The day will include a tour of the farm and the co-operative-owned processing barn, a talk by the host, Jyoti Fernandes about how she and her husband started the enterprise and time for questions. A light lunch with time for networking will end the day. More information and bookings can be made at http://www.thrivingenterprises.net/trading-places-events Places are free for voluntary and community organisations and a travel bursary is also available. For more information please contact Jessie Wainwright on 0117 314 4653 or j.wainwright@dta.org.uk Many thanks and best wishes Jessie Wainwright South West Regional Development Officer Development Trusts Association Transforming communities for good http://www.dta.org.uk/aboutus/dtaintheregions/southwest/ Survive and Thrive: Be inspired, be informed, be connected http://www.thrivingenterprises.net/ The Old Library, Trinity Road, Bristol BS2 0NW t: 01173 144 653 | m: 07818 570 177 e: j.wainwright@dta.org.uk | w: www.dta.org.uk Find out more about how your organisation can enjoy the benefits of membership to the Development Trusts Association, visit www.dta.org.uk/jointhedta.
