Once again, ill start.
Tradition and change. We are unable to handle change as people. Why?
As far as I can tell, we try to change things till they are just right for us, and then want stabillity. But we dont learn that change is ever present. It is the third thing in the two things that are inevitable: Death, taxes and change. But, if it exists, and we know it will allways exist, why are we afraid of it? Is it because the post-change world is unknown to us? Are we that fearful of the unknown that we fear what we cannot escape instead of accepting it?

Likewise, we cannot change our traditions because they are what we do and what we have done. To revolt, we would bring too much change, no matter how intolerable the present situation is. This is why oppression gets so bad before an inspired leader can arrise to break the shackles. We are so used to it and live short enough that our children dont even know what times were before it. And if they feel, it will resolve, but some of them do not feel how severly they are being wronged. And it takes forever for a revolutionary to arise because of this. Would accepting change and denouncing tradition in favor of personal freedom be worthwhile, much less acceptable, considdering today's standereds?

May all who gaze upon his stern face veiw him as a renegade and a revolutionary. He was the rogue who fought solely for the justice of all. His name has been forgotten, but his spirit lives among all the downtrodden innocents, urging the destruction of the corrupt, and the martyrdom of the dangerously insane.

People like normal, average lives. They like to follow a dailly routine, sleep, work, sleep, work. It keeps them satisfied. And helps them to leave a humble existence in their wake.

Being afraid of change, is part of human nature. If you follow that daily routine, nothing dangerous, or out of the ordinary can happen. It's called human reasoning. Our brains like to know what is going to be happenning next. To be in control of situations. If something happens, that strays away from our daily routines. It seems strange, and to some, threatening.

I guess it's got to do with animal instinct aswell.

eg. The dominant male, in a pride of lions is out on his hourly patrol of his territory. He detects an unknown male lion. And automatically considers it as a threat. The animal's mind thinks of scenarios, it worries that the other lion is here to take over the pride. So it attacks the situation head on.

This has got more to do with psychology, rather then philosophy kai. It's mainly how a humans train on thoughts can cope when they're abruptly broken.

Yes, but humans have higher intellagence than lions. They can understand that change is inevitable, and still fear it. Why?

On a side note, the unanswerable question with every topic is "why?"

We may be more intellegent. But our basic instincts are virtually the same.

...Because Humans and especially The Human Mind are imperfect, correct?

Nothing is perfect Kai, it's only how we see it...

And yet we are aiming to be perfect, masters of our own universe... And we realize this is impossible too, but we prod on despite it. Why? Are we so stubborn that everything has to be our way, no matter how impossible? Is that the human perspective?

There is nothing wrong with aiming for perfection. It's what makes a good job, even better.

But yet, we are stubborn, self-centred creatures. We gloat about false perfections, and victories. And never think twice about the world around us.

It's what makes us human. Although, not all human aspects are bad....

Even though most are futile. I think humans are programed for futillity, its why we learn the same lessons over and over again.
