I'm pretty fluent in Vietnamese. I can't speak it as well as I'd like to and if it's a fast paced conversation then I won't be able to follow.
I do know a few token words in Japanese (all learned from porn and anime thank you much), a couple of words in Korean (greetings, simple everyday words), a tiny bit of Khmer and Laotian (stuff like feeed me or hey, let's smoke pot lol) and I took French for about 4 or 5 years but the most I can say is, "Salut. Je m'appelle Jane."

I can speak pretty ok in Cambodian. xP haha but i understand alot just harder for me to speak. ;] I know some japanese but not alot. ^^

Do you speak canto or mandarin? My great grandfather was Chinese... I think he spoke canto.

As a result my english is good, ny cantonese is...dodgy..
Because i grew up with the 2 languages my cantonese pronounciation is pretty bad.. . i understand almost everything said and can reply...dodgy-ly..lol
and i was learning japanese in high school and primary, my japanese isn't that good though, lol i only understand bits and pieces (helped along with watching subbed jdrama and anime)

I'm fluent in Thai (well, I'm Thai *cought*)
and I know a little French ... now trying to learn some Japanese (eventho now I'm only know the words commonly used in porn *lol*)

I'm fluent in Japanese (but omg dont ask me to translate or write it! been learning english since I was six so dad pulled me out of Kanji classes >.< dumb chichi-san! But I'm RELEARNING all the Kanji i used to know as a child and learning more so YAY! I should be back to my Japanese self pretty soon...) but since I discovered that I'm 1/4 Korean I'm learning korean, too! woot!

I'm pretty close to being fluent in spanish and I've mastered english...Te tried to teach me german and french but I just can't get my tongue to work with me! ugh...mmm also learning Chinese ^_^v

I'm fluent in Spanish and English, I understand Portugese but don't ask me to speak it cause I can't. I can also understand Italian a bit. I can speak a bit of Japanses, all learned through music, anime, and a bit from porn. XD I can also understand English Sign language and can make myself understood with the limited that I can do.

I'm a native German-speaker.
I try to understand and speake English on the best level I can do and use it nearly every day.
I also spent years of learning French. When it comes to understand French it's ~ok~, but I can't come up with right sentences by myself. =/ Wasted time...
Finally, I understand a minimum of Japanese.

My mother tongue is Italian, so yeah I'm fluent in it (more or less xD). My English is ok I guess, although I do have difficulty in understanding native speakers when they talk D: My French is so-so and my German is bad. I also understand/speak very very little Icelandic. I'm studying Japanese at university and next year I'll take up Chinese as well.

LOL.. same here. My Cantonese is very dodgy, even though I lived in HK for a few years! Grew up with English and Chinese (Cantonese & a Fujian dialect), though I studied in Malay (a useless language). Ironically, I'm still in the process of learning and using Mandarin Chinese...

Took German in high school (but bugger me if I remember any of it - I can understand French better!), and understand a bit of Japanese from movies/anime/porn/friends ^__^

... and my bf is trying to teach me words in Spanish and Afrikaans... >_>

English and japanese speak it can't read some korean.

My first language is English, and I know basic Spanish, Japanese and am learning Thai. I AM DETERMINED TO BE FLUENT IN JAPANESE AND THAI. 8DDDD

Dude, you guys are so cross-cultural. I, on the other hand, am a sheltered and ethnocentric American! I know English and I used to be able to say "dicks are for chicks, not your friend's ass" in Spanish. But we all know that isn't true, anyway.
