Phew ... Well it looks like I finally decided to stick in a TV/movies section for those of you that were complaining about not having enough places to post in here. I wanted to start the section off with a pretty well-known program ('cuz I actually watch a lot of obscure, low-profile stuff)~

Synopsis: Kiritani Shuji is the popular guy who gets along with everyone, from the jerks to the nerds to the just plain weird. He's the one that everyone can count on. However, what they don't know is that Shuji knows how predictable his classmates are and he plays off their predictability to his advantage. His day-to-day existence as "Shuji-kun" is just a facade he uses to play in the school popularity game. Truth be told, Shuji is bored.

The one person Shuji cannot stand is Kusano Akira. To Shuji, Akira is just plain annoying. He laughs, talks and acts funny. Nobody in class takes Akira seriously. Shuji can't stand the sight of Akira and it drives him nuts that Akira does whatever he wants despite Shuji's expressed dislike of him.

Shuji has a daily ritual of touching a certain willow tree for good luck. One day, he is startled to find out that his willow tree was uprooted and in its place, a freaky-looking girl telling him that some people took the tree somewhere else to be spotted. She told him that she was planning to hang herself from that tree. Scared, Shuji runs away.

Things heat up when a new student comes to school. Shuji is shocked to find out that the new student was the freaky girl he saw the day his willow tree disappeared. Her name is Kotani Nobuko, a girl who has no self confidence at all and is content at being made fun of and bullied in school.

Shuji and Akira come to an accord that in order to make use of their "youth" they will "produce" Nobuko as the next popular girl. One of the conditions, however, is that nobody should find out that they are working together as a team to make this concept possible.

Of course, there can be no protagonist without an antagonist. There is a mysterious girl in school jeopardizing the duo's plan to make Nobuko popular. The mystery continues to unfold.

Unveiled here is the story of true friendship between three unlikely candidates who would not have been friends if not given the special circumstances.

I'm sure a lot of you have seen this drama, yes? It aired a couple years ago and I LOVE IT TO BITS. The Shuuji x Akira pairing rules my LIFE. <333

I didn't see it yet but I really wanna watch this drama. Usually I only watch dramas with hardsubs and since there are none for Nobuta wo produce I have to wait. I think Kioku Fansubs are going to sub it but I'm not sure. I don't like watching raws and I don't like softsubs either. So i just have to be patient. But a lot of people really recommend this drama. Probably because of Kame and Yamapi.

I watched and loved it!! *_* and not only coz of the ShuujixAkira fluff *lol* I liked the whole plot and Nobuta's character a lot too ^^

I like all sorts of freaks so I enjoyed most of the characters haha and the cute piggies were so adorable X3 A friend made a little Nobuta pig for my last b-day ^^ and it stands for NOBUTA POWER~~~ xD *does the NP move*

Ahhh, Nobuta wo Produce is one of my favorites! (mostly because I find Yamapi adorkable to bits in this drama X3). I love how he's so goofy, but still really caring towards his friends all at once. I could go on about him forever, but I think I'll stop it here for now *^*

Oh yeah, forgot to mention Kame :P
I though he was super cute in this one too, buuuuut (don't shoot me) he's got NOTHIN on Pi-chan IMO :rolleyes:

Loooool oh Shuuji-kun. =D This was one of Kame's better dramas, really. ^__^ It had some really nice episodes! I personally thought that it would have ended very nicely at episode 8 (especially since ep 9 was very wtf), but epi 10 was cute... a little extreme on the fanservice side, but cute. =D

Not a big fan of Shuuji to Akira pairing because a lot of the Pi and Kame rabu rabu was staged and looked kinda fake, but it's better than some other pairings I've seen, I suppose. XD (Like kurosawa x yuya wtf? D:)

Hayato x Ryu OTP though. ~.^

ahhh! Drama!! I think I major in JDrama.. especially Kame's dramas! XD haha. this particular drama was great!!

I think there was a theme of Boy's love hinting there the WHOLE TIME! I mean, Akira was glomping Shuji and leaning on him the whole time... and many fans did say, it was odd that Akira left with Shuji at the end... hmm. yea. definitely Boy's love. XD

My friend who had to do an academic paper on Yaoi... took some examples from this drama. XD haha. NwP ... the ultimate gay drama. XD

I mean, the story is super cute. it's just that... the 2 very hot guys are a wee bit too touchy. Thus the boy's love theme...

not that I mind. at all.

=O wowz i just talked about this drama in the other post, well not really talk in detail, but how i got my name, anywho i saw this drama, and i love it lol it was really good! :lol: i love Yamapi ! x3 the way he acts in this drama is so adorable & cute lol :P

This was like the second Japanese drama I've ever seen (first one was Densha Otoko). I loved this show, it was so...different, I guess. Like a fairytale almost.

Next to GTO and Densha Otoko this is the best drama I've ever seen---definately recommended ^__^ that, and Akira (Yamapi) is the greatest drama character ever :clap:

Nobuta wo Produce is what got me into COAT strangely enough! I LOOOVED this series (the ending-- no spoilers but I was prepared to be sad and instead ended up jumping off my couch with glee!) and I was like, I wonder what other BL-ish dramas can be found? So when I found the "Yaoi drama?" thread in aarinfantasy (remember that, people? Think waaaay back) and I was like, hmmm, what is this COAT WEST drama like? It looks sorta racy compared to most Jdramas! *Laugh* Then... you know.

For my schoolbag I even use the Nobuta wo Produce school bag, Shuji (Kame) version:

The website SimplyTOFU carries a lot of things from dramas like Nobuta wo Produce, 1 Litre o Namida, Gokusen etc. Also, jewelry worn by KAT-TUN and NewS members. (I also bought Jin's silver globe necklace and Ryo's gold globe necklace)

There are different versions of the bag because if you look closely at the drama, Shuji's bag is different from everyone else's because it's got green straps. Akira's have brown straps etc. :clap:

Did anyone else notice that Horikita Maki who plays Kotani slipped and actually smiled in one episode?! ^^

That lead girl is very pretty. :)

I'd say Nobuta is quite good.
