"They're all dead, or missing." She stated coldly, knowing it to be the truth. Her damned fear of fire had aided that, bringing back the small scared child from her past. Everything was alight, and everyone was dying. Shaking her head slightly, she looked to Aki, and tried a smile. "Come on!" Without giving the fox girl a chance to react, Taro lurched to her feet, eager to free herself of the thought of flames, combating it with its natural enemy: water. Twenty steps down the beach, and Taro pulled her new found friend into the salty waters of the sea. Still smiling, she felt the prickle of ice as it sealed the fibers of the bandage too tightly to be penetrable by water. Then, letting go of her hand, Tarosy reached into the water and brought up a handful of water, sending it Aki's way in the ankle deep water. If she couldn't find the strength to fight her fear, than there was no chance she'd ever be able to start over.

As she predicted, the water washed away all of the fears she had. Worries of her lost home and destroyed island fell away from her current thoughts, now focused on her new found friend. There was just something about this girl that was just so damn likable. She was so nice, so good-intentioned, she was even splashing back at her, enjoying the playful pastime as much as Taro was. No water splashed higher than the teenager's shoulders, even as she lifted water in her hands and thrust it forward back at Aki. After a short gala of splashes, Taro herself ceased fire. regarding the other girl with a tentative smile. "Thanks, I really needed that." She smile grew slightly friendlier as she laughed softly. "It really knocked me back, thank you."

Standing silently in the water, Taro watched the sand play about at Aki's feet for a short while before responding. "It's hard to explain." She began, trying to find the words to explain herself. "I... when I was little, my family wasn't too well received anywhere they went. They used something to get us to leave every time. After so many attacks, so many times, I... well, I got really afraid. I can't even say the word anymore, can't think about it without almost breaking down. Anything to do with it makes me crumble, and I turn back into a quivering child. I can't help it, and I can't control it. The fear never goes away." She looked to Aki, her face blank of all emotion, except a vague, vague hope. "I've never told anyone this, but I bet plenty of them have figured it out on their own." She conveniently left out that the majority of those people were now dead. "This is probably the most I've spoken at once in my entire life." Taro shrugged, smiling a little. "Usually, I'm really quiet."

"Damn it!" Doubtlessly, her sudden outburst had shocked her new friend. Her quivering shook Aki's hand loose from her shoulder. Taro wrapped her arms around her waist, her face in pain. "I can't let it conquer me. I can't." Looking up to Aki, almost tearful, her words spilled out like waterfall. "I need your help, and I truly can't take no for an answer." A pause, and the demoness tried to regain control of herself. Violent mood swings were no way to convince a person to help her. "I need... to fix this. I can't be afraid anymore." Another pause, a sharp intake of breath following. "I need you to help me fight..." She couldn't do it. Not that word, not that word- "Fire." Tarosy looked up to Aki, distress creasing her face cruelly. "Please, help me."
((Call her emo all you want. >> She's just traumatized.))

"Ever since I was little." Taro began, continuing to shake. "Since before I could remember. It's only natural, isn't it? To fear what can so easily destroy you. I embody ice, control ice. I'm at home in the cold and find solace in wintry desertion. Fire can destroy that. The heat and flames can ravage my frosty fantasy quicker than I could ever possibly defend it. If I am ever to grow, if I am ever to truly live, I have to be able to quit sniveling like a broken-hearted child. I need to stand up to my fear, to the flames and fight back. I know you can help me, because I know your affinity is for fire. Just by being around you will help me." As her words drawled on, Tarosy continued to calm herself. Her determination became stronger, more willful. She would conquer her weakness, if it was the last thing she would do. "My fear controls me. It takes hold of my mind and I react like an animal. You've seen it already, what it can do. I need to be able to fight that, and stay in control. I promise to repay you somehow, someway, for your assistance." Carefully, she took a step back and lifted her eyes to the sky. Night was coming fast. "Is there anywhere you know of where fire is strong? If I expose myself to it continuously, maybe, maybe, I'll learn to accept it as a part of nature, of life. Balance must exist, and I need to learn how to keep that balance."

A tingling sensation prompted Taro to look away as the girl's thoughts relayed back and forth, her eyes resting on the ocean, its gentle waves rustling back and forth when rushed by the wind. This was what she knew, what she longed for and understood, but there was no going home now, no turning back. Because of her damned phobia, she was left without that, without that chance of going home, of being home. She couldn't even fully blame Jetmir. He'd been fine to let her go after shooting down her shield, but no, Taro couldn't think to see fire enrapture the island, even from at a distance. And then, later, she'd been betrayed, and he'd let a rain of fire roar down upon that little island, while she watched quaking and helpless from a fishing boat.
Now, she only had two options yet again: Conquer her fear, the flame and her oppression, or live in the shadow of the moon, waiting for the heat to seize control yet again. Looking back now, she regarded Aki with a level tone and expression, her resolve resolute. "Hell is perfect." She let the words sink in, let them ring through her subconscious like church bells. Hell. "I don't know what ear tags are, but surely there's a way to get in without being noticed. We wouldn't want to be around a lot of people anyway. Aki, will you take me to Hell?"
