Title: Minor Awards - So Far...

Well, as we're about a third of the way through the season, I thought I would post up the current standings of the minor awards the league gives out at the end of the season.

For those of you who aren't currently in line for an award, don't worry - there's plenty of time left in the season! ;)

I'm thinking for next season (not this season, mind), we'll add in a little bonus for each minor award, say 1,000 gp. Small enough not to make a difference generally, but win enough and it will add up. I thought about making it 5,000 gp each but then that could make a considerable difference if one team swept four or more awards. If you have any opinions on this, or alternative suggestions, let me know.

A gold reward for next season sounds great, assuming next season has a set number of games. Otherwise, several of the current awards are very number-of-games dependent, such as Most Touchdowns, Most Dangerous, Most Lethal, etc.

If side-games are allowed and the number of games is going to be variable, I'd suggest only giving gold for ones that are average-per-game sorts of deals. So Most Brutal is fine because it's an average per game. A team that's played 12 games has no greater chance of getting it than a team that's played 6 games.

You could also change some of the differential awards to be average-per-game if side-games are allowed... so make Painmaker average casualty differential per game instead of sum total of casualty differential.

Either way, I agree that 1k is a good enough award, and 5k is too high.

Good point, Shane. I think what you suggest would be fairest.
