Tyranid Hivefleets, Tyranid info and forces

Tyranid fleets are a terror to face up close. Completely biological vessels that live float through the void as they close for battle. Protected by banks and banks of spore mines, it can be quite difficult to penetrate this mass and cause damage to the actual ships. Most of the weaponry on Tyranid ships are short ranged but very effective. In addition to projectile attacks, they are the only race to use appendages like claws and tentacles to attack enemy ships. It's an eerie sight to see one of the gigantic Tyranid Hive ships clutch a vessel with it's claws and "feed" on it with tentacles, all the while unloading hordes of bio-organisms which run rampant aboard the victimized ship.

Not much is known of the Droneships as they are almost impossible to capture in one piece.

RAZORFIEND CLASS CRUISER


Razorfiend Cruisers form the backbone of the Tyranid Hivefleet. Providing good firepower and survivability, almost comparable to Imperial cruisers, the Razorfiend resembles a sinister Manta ray as it approaches its foes. Armed with Spore Cysts, Torpedoes, Bio-Plasma Discharges, and launch bays capable of sending deadly assault pods filled with Genestealers and other horrifying Tyranid creatures, the Razorfiend is rightly considered the mainstay of these alien fleets.

LEVIATHAN CLASS HIVESHIP


Tyranid hiveships are monstrous, void swimming leviathans that are found at the very heart of the hivefleets. Tremendous physical variety has been observed in these behemoths, although thick, stone-like armor plates and dense clusters of weapon growths are common features. Despite their seemingly impossible size, hiveships are living creatures incorporating millions of bioengineered organisms. Each is biological factory capable of creating millions of Tyranid organisms, of replicating genomes and splicing together new creatures perfectly adapted for each new world encountered. Tens of thousands of Tyranid warriors are carried aboard hiveships, the cocooned officers of nightmare hordes yet to be born.
