Okay, this isn't directed towards anyone in particular, but I thought that I might just post some general rules and guidelines for rping. These can be used pretty much anywhere that you would RP on the net.
1) Respect - Respect other people and their opinions, respect their decisions, respect their idea's, and most importantly, RESPECT THEIR CHARACTERS! If you are into one thing, and the person that you want to rp with is not, then respect that. Come up with a different idea for rp, or just don't argue. For example, lets say that one person would like to do a storyline that would be classified as BDSM, and lets say that the person they asked isn't into that sort of thing, or that their char isn't suited for it. Respect that person's feelings, and ask them if they have any idea's for RP that they've been wanting to try out.
2) No god-moding - God-moding is basically where you always insist that your character is the most powerful, or where you insist that there is no way what-so-ever that your character can be defeated in battle. God-moding can also be classified as a situation where one person keeps trying to evade an attack of some sort, and the other person keeps basically forcing the attack or advance on the other's character.
3) Be original - Like always, School Boys doesn't require having an original character; meaning one that you've created on your own. But its always nice to have creative, original storylines. If you'd like to have say for instance, a Yugi-Oh based RP, thats fine. Base it on Yugi-Oh, but make sure to throw in your own twists. For example, grab a few of your friends who have original characters, and bring their characters into it. Or, you could get a character from a completely different anime or manga in there and make it a cross-over RP.
4) Grammar - Its always good to use good Grammar. You don't necessairly have to capatilize everything, but atleast word sentances correctly, and use good punctuation. Run-on sentances can be very confusing to read, and also very tiring. Completely spell out words such as "you" and "are" instead of using letters. Remember, when you go back and read over your RP, it should read almost exactly like a book. It is also good to use past-tense wording. For example, instead of saying: "I quitely walk into the tavern, seating myself in a dark corner." try saying: "he moved silently into the tavern, seating himself in a darkened corner." Sounds alot better, and it makes your entire paragraph or paragraphs look a whole lot better as well.
5) Paragraphs as Opposed to One-lining - Now, they may take alot longer to type out than one-lines, but oh the fun you can have with paragraphs. Of course, they are not necessairy for School Boys, but you can be so much more creative and express so much more about your character with paragraphs. You can tell someone how your character is feeling, better discribe how he or she looks, and you can fit in some pretty good details. That, and its alot more fun for the person recieving the post to be able to read something that could be considered a very very tiny short story. And besides that, LOTS of mental imagery is always nice.
