I do many of the aerator (septic system) inspections in my county and since I've been doing this for about 10 years here, I've gotten familiar with those who have never fixed their system. :rules:

Finally got tired of it and started sending them to the prosecutor's office. The assistant prosecutor sends them a letter (very similar to mine) telling them to fix their system. Welllll do you think they listened to him???? NOoooooo :banghead:

So we sent them to court with a request for a summary judgment. I WON! Now the court has sent them a notice that they have another 60 days to make all their repairs (and clean up the garbage at one place) or else.

Looks like this will make for a nice Thanksgiving present! :smoke:

If anyone would like some suggestions... including some stock wording for the prosecutor's letter and the court rulings! Sometimes we have to do it all, but when it comes down to the final part where the judge rules in your favor... it's all worth it!

We typically get a $100 fine with most of it suspended if they comply within two weeks or so from the judge. He actually yells at them pretty hard and doesn't seem to mind a change of pace from his normal cases.

Do you take effluent samples to show they are out of compliance?

We don't, if the motor is running it's in compliance, if it isnt they need to get it repaired(timer or motor or electric, etc)
