Do your operators' struggle with this form. i have to explain it and do an example for almost everyone. I still have problems after all that. People just have a hard time with the form. I am sure somebody put a lot of time in designing it, but it doesn't work well for my operators.

I once wrote this lengthy instruction sheet for the operation report and sent it out and that didn't work and then I sent out the instruction sheet that ODH came up with, and that didn't work so finally I reverted to simple grade school tactics. And here is the result.

actually it has helped a lot. I had a class and actually explained it to some of the operators. It seemed to work, but we'll see.

Why don't you redesign the form and submit it to Barry R.? You guys have a better idea of why they have problems with it.

The color illustration is an interesting approach to getting people to understand the form.

I always carry stacks of them with me during an in inspection. If I see it is being filled out incorrectly I will sit down with the operator or pool tech for 5 minutes after doing my water quality test and get out a blank sheet and fill in all the results. I get the best results doing this instead of saying, "fill out the form, here it is."

And I'm not saying that particular sanitarians are doing that. I admit the 1st time I saw the form it was overwhelming, think about what an operator or pool tech thinks when he/she sees it.
