Please remember these things before posting:- If your post is riddled with spelling and grammar errors it will not make a good impression.
- If posting an article, please make it lively and interesting, but not too short. At least 300 words, please.
- If posting a comic, we don't really want long-winded stories. A short and snappy comic for a quick laugh is perfect. The comics at Explosm are great examples (warning: some of the bad comics here contain racism, swearing, homophobia and a lot of jokes about religion).
- Posted examples are allowed to be things you have already done (a blog entry, homework essay etc). The stuff for the newspaper must be exclusive. However, even if your examples are original, they will not be used in the paper - so just give us an idea of your ability but don't use up your main ideas!
- Please make your topic description the section that you are applying for. So if you are applying to join the Comics section, make the description "Comics". This will help the section heads know which topics to check out.
What to do when applying:1.Register, with your Sal's name. 2. Before anything, post this: | QUOTE (Template thing) | I wish to be on the paper because:

For the example, it should be something we can read. So if you're applying for comics, post a comic strip you've made. If its interviews, post an interview of yours.
Each person can, if their application was rejected, re-apply only once more - and please take into account what people said the first time.
| QUOTE (Hexias) | As a professional organization we require that our staff be well-suited for the task at hand and put in the most effective place possible. As a result, our Application process may seem to be a bit tedious.
First, you must state your pseudonym (name you'll use as a writer), reason for applying, and why you think you'll do a good job.
Second, you must send in a sample of what one of your reports might look like. (For help, contact a Vice Editor or The Editor)
Third, you must do the best job possible! |
The piece that you post with your application will not be used in the newspaper. Just so you know. This post has been edited by Steve on Jan 25 2007, 03:02 AM
