Its not perfect but some of you guys might enjoy this. Its a mod of a mod, mod really lol.
It was originally made for Oblivion by Timeslip. I just modified the fx file to make it work well with RE4.
This will also work with other directx9 games not all though.

Another quick update.
Those of you who have downloaded RC2 should should Note that I just fixed the long light adjustment time in RC2.1. I cant believe I missed that.
2.2 is out

UPDATE:
Release Two is out. Things aren't as bright as the first release especially the village Mr_Zombie. This release does however introduce a little bit more contrast and saturation but its all good, not done yet.

View readme for Installation notes. pretty simple really
Its a very small download. It requires a video card with at least shader model 2.0 and should have very little performance impact.

RE_BloomRC2.2

Older Release:

Yeah I can't take the brightness down without making the the saturation too high with this shader. It also takes a little too long for the light too ajust at some parts of the game Like when you start a new game. Its not perfect but its still a WIP. It still needs a little bit of tweaking.
It does make the game look alot less black and white and fire looks pretty sweet, and enhances the games shaders a bit
You can toggle the effect on and off with the + on the numder pad for menus and things.

Downloaded it and the game looks great. It's a little too bright in the village, but the colors are now more vivid.
I tried it with DMC3 too, and, besides some too bright or too dark scenes, it looks amazing there too. No more washed out, greyish colors smile.gif.

ohmy.gif ohmy.gif wow! Thats really amazing!...awesome ohmy.gif biggrin.gif .

EDIT: just tried it out...still AWESOME! But, as you said, a bit of tweaking is still to do - so please go on with this great work. All it needs is a bit more balance of the brightness and it will be PERFECT.

...again: f***ing amazing cool.gif !

Weird, I put it in the main directory just like you said, and for some reason all it does is crash my game right when I start it up.

Nervermind, it's my old as ATI 9250...

This is awesome, but i never really found anything good in bloom or hdr. It kinda screws the game and makes everything unnecessarily bright.

wait a minute...I got a friend that got the same problem - he has a Radeon X1600...

so is there someone using an ATI grapgics card with which the mod runs well?? (maybe there's a problem with compatibility to ATI's cards...) --> I got a gForce 7800gs and the mod runs without any problems

I have Radeon 9550 and it works smoothly in both RE4 and DMC3; but the village, for example, is much brighter when compared to the one on first image cdiddy7 posted.

Yup thats because the light takes time to adjust depending on what your looking at (fake HDR) , it takes too long as you probably noticed, another one of the things that needs to be fixed
. I turned around really fast when i took that shot. rolleyes.gif I agree The other side of the village is much brighter.
