Name: Enhanced Environment 1.5
Author(s): Cerberus
credits: albert(texturepatch2.0), nacery(gc-barrelmod)

Notes/Description:

So what does the mod do?...it replaces all surrounding textures of RE4 with much sharper and more detailed ones.

This mod includes everything from the first Enh. Env. plus the new material albert used to make his texturepatch 2.0.
Finally 50% of the textures from Enh. Env. 1.0 were replaced by redone material from alberts texturepatch 2.0.

Download Link:

you'll need this three parts to install/use Enh. Env. 1.5

http://files.filefront.com/xfilereadmezip/...;/fileinfo.html

http://files.filefront.com/xscr+part1zip/;...;/fileinfo.html

http://files.filefront.com/xscr+part2zip/;...;/fileinfo.html

update to version 2.0:

A huge thanks goes to albert again, cause he showed me the textures that I missed/forgot to overwork. So without his efforts this wouldn't have come to a release.

note: you might find some small textures that are identical with the ones from alberts texturepatch v2.0 - this is cause they are so small and it wouldn't have made any sense to redo them (cause they are fine as they are).

download here:

http://files.filefront.com/v20+update+thxt...;/fileinfo.html

installation-note: download Enh. Env. 1.5 --->install, after that download update to version 2.0 ---> install ... finished: you now got the latest Enh. Env. installed (v. 2.0)

I think it is only an upadate that makes the textures from 1.0 50% better.
Anyway it looks so fricking good, but shame my computer won't run it and sadly i don't play RE4 anymore.

1st: thx to all of you guys cool.gif

@ james: ...I doubt that jesus would do such a thing tongue.gif

And about 2.0...I think there wont be one. At least not during the next months...I'm sick of looking at surroundings textures right now dry.gif tongue.gif . The 1.5 is cause 50% of the textures from Enh. Env. 1.0 were redone/replaced by redone stuff.

@ Cro-Cop Leon: its the same like with 1.0...if RE4 runs on your system it will also run with the mod. Maybe with a little increased loading time.

This is a little better.
But texture patch 2.0 uses normal mapping and Enchanced Environment 1.5 uses bump-map effect (Not really)
So you can use whatever tastes you.

You can do so. The character albert also overworked will stay the same, cause they aren't included in Enh. Env. 1.5.

the textures are nice, very nice. but maybe its just me but the whole game still looks dull compared to the GC version. i think its something to do with the color or something, everything looks so grey. is it possible to re-create those nice shader effects and lighting the GC version had or is that just too hard to do? ive got all the stuff that makes the game look as good as i can be, so i dont think im missing anything offical that fixes this issue, but i still dont think the lighting is right.

The Game Cube version uses a real time lighting engine from what i saw in the trailers when compared to ps2 and pc.
To get the game cube lighting you need a new engine IMO.

I will try to get all the content from the game and port it to unreal 3 engine and if everything works well I will try to make the mod require the original game to be able to play it so it won't be illegal.
If I pull this off I will get the help of a talented mate that works at blizzard as texture artist and he will create some normal maps for all textures.
If such normal maps or bump maps will be created I will request permission to use high rez textures from this packs found on this forum.

This is what I will try in the upcoming weeks but i don't promise anything.
