Adoptables
No room for your fantastical characters? Can't think of one to use here, but still want to roleplay? Here, you'll find characters suited to the period and the setting, ready at your disposal! Just choose one and write a sample post with the character (it doesn't have to be anything incredibly fancy) on the character's thread. If and when your 'audition' is accepted, we'll move the thread to Descriptions, and you will be home free to roleplay that character to your heart's content!

The Estates
The estates of those lower-middle class up to the higher nobility of [insert city name here], --shire England are situated on plots of land in and about the city. Acreage varies, of course: Nobles' plots are generally several miles from the town, while some of the middle-class plots are actually within the city limits. However, these estates are situated mostly upon the opposite side of the city of those lower-class homes.

Apartments and Flats
While the Upper and Upper-Middle Classes, even some Lower-Middle Class are in possession of their own estates for the most part, quite a few Middle Class families are in permanent residence here. For the wealthier visitors who prefer a full-sized living area, or those who simply cannot afford the expenses of the Amery Inn, the area also makes for good temporary residences.

The Amery Inn
A quality hotel in which weary travels may rest their heads for the night (and/or order a few drinks).

More description coming.

Shops and Markets
Our city thrives with vendors of all social classes and every imaginable good. The shops of certain classes, of course, do seem to be seperated much as the homes. The vendors of luxury, high-quality goods are mostly located in the booming central portion of town, blended with some of the middle class shops. The lower class shops are down near that part of the city, on the outskirts, and are rarely frequented by any outside of their class.

The Swaggering Duke
The Swaggering Duke - a finer establishment you'll not find this side of London. Or so says the half-drunken man claiming to be the owner and barkeep. First impressions can usually be sketchy, but he appears to be without a doubt a few drops short of a pint.

A filthy, noisy tavern, The Duke is as home to rats and vermin as it is to drunks and barfights, though the Duke's own [NAME OF MONKEY], a monkey of questionable origin and sobriety, tends to keep the vermin to a manageable level. Well, the four-legged and tailed kind, that is. Enter at your own risk.

Description in working:

Happiness here is found mostly in the form of food and money, not gardens and trinkets. Here, not even the air seems dispensable. Here, freedom is no charm worn in gold through the loops of a velvet waistcoat-- it is a dream, unattainable due the want education and of ambition paired with opportunity. Things are dirty, scummy, not gleaming and beautiful, and conditions certainly not conducive to health. But people live...they carry on

The Docks
Set on the Thames as the city is, it has a major system of docks for trade and passage.

Working description(s).

The grunts and shouts of hard-working sailors and longshoremen fill this bustling center of trade on the Thames by day and the drunken songs and brawls of the taverns by night. Throughout all smells of tar and pitch mingle with sweat and mud and thicken the air.

Riverfront
A peaceful enough retreat outside of the city limits. The riverside is sandy in some areas, though most spots as such are littered with pebbles as well. Name retreats, then, are quite grassy, some covered in wildflowers from the nearby meadows, and a few more areas yet are covered with large boulders situated by, or even in, the Thames. These make wonderful places to overlook the river, if you don't mind the hard seat. Bring some blankets?

...okay, so this is working.

Barclay Forest
Beginning on the very outskirts of the town, this wood is full of birch trees, namely. The white trunks and green leaves provide beautiful landscape, covering a dirt floor with cool shade. Moss grows upon large boulders and the occasional fallen trunk. The forest fades out on to heath.

England
Ruled by George IV, Prince Regent, and home of [ourcitynamehere], England's largest cities include London (the capitol), Portsmouth (a southern port), Southampton (another port in the south), Westminster (home of the famous Anglican church St. George Hanover Square), and of course, Brighton (coastal city, and home of the Royal Pavilion, built for the Prince Regent George IV). If your roleplay should take place in any of these places, or anywhere else in England, outside of our beautiful city, this is the place to do it.

Ireland
Ireland is currently ruled by the English Parliament (as a part of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland). The country is based greatly in Gaelic lore, though the traditions have died out... the Gaelic revivals will not happen for a few years. The country is currently in the process of recovering from the Irish Rebellion of 1798 (led by the United Irishmen), and violence continues in County Wicklow, on the eastern coast, south of Dublin... but life goes on.
