The girl looked up, slightly relieved to see a familiar face. "Oh, Mr. Frank! I'm so glad to see you...the Professor...he hasn't arrived yet." She bit her lip, studying the 'recruits' again. "I'm afraid he might have disturbed some pokemon and gotten himself in trouble, or even worse, gotten lost. But I can't leave to go looking for him with all these trainers waiting...he would want me to take care of them, I know."

Nikki's attention was instantly riveted on the girl as she stepped out from the lab. She removed her hands from the glass (and hastily wiped off any smudges) then grinned at the youngin. (she had no room to speak though, really.) So the professor WAS missing in action...How peciliar. Usually they're here for this sort of stuff, especially Prof. Birch. Well, at least it looked like things were moving along somewhat. Even if the Professor wasn't here at the moment, it didn't mean they couldn't choose their Pokemon, right? oo;

Lenora immediately rushed inside the lab, her pent-up energy finally exploding. "They're all so cuuute!" she cooed, looking at all the Pokemon in the playpin. "This is so cool! Seeing them up close makes it harder to choose..."
Daytona entered as well, though she was in no hurry. The Professor hadn't made it to the lab yet, and that's who she wanted to speak to. She moved out of the way of the new trainers that were herding into the lab, ending up a few feet away from Rose and Frank. Watching the 'recruits', she held back a laugh. "Like Venemoth to a flame," she commented.

Eve glanced around at the trainers eagerly flooding through the doors, and looked over at the two people who seemed to be in charge.
"C'mon, Riley," She said looking down at the mightyena by herside and nodding for her pokemon to follow. The two walked over to the girl and older man at the doors.
"Hey, um... I'm new to this Pokemon Trainer's Challenge thing. I heard this is where new trainers start, hoped someone could give me some help as how to get into this." She grinned sheepishly.
"I'm a late bloomer." She chuckled, readjusting the strap of her bag over her shoulder. Riley trotted next to her and began to sniff the feet of the new people she didn't know, and sat next to her trainer to watch them inquisitively.

Nikki walked into the lab, her eyes exploring every nook and cranny. She was relatively quiet for the moment (quite uncharacteristic of her), but could tell that the young girl and older man weren't actually in charge of this place, and a bit unsure of what to do. She'd wait for the Professor to come, so he could take over and...do whatever. oo; She justed wanted that Treeko! Speaking of which... Nikki's eyes sought out the tough Pokemon she'd spotted outside, then finally spotted him or her in the pen with other adoptable Pokemon. She grinned, watching the fiesty Treeko. Oooh, she hoped they would hit it off so she could adopt him or her. ...So come on, Professor! ;-;

Frank nodded, hoping the Professor was ok. After all, Pokemon could be very dangerous. He's gotten bit or slapped or run up a tree plenty of times in his heyday, going out and collecting wild Pokemon for training. It still happened, breeding and raising them. He surveyed the trainers running around, and made a decision. He couldn't leave a girl all by herself during a crazy day like this. And it wasn't like he had anything better to do with his life, if he went back home he would just knit. So he smiled, and declared,
"Well, I'll help then. I know the drill, it's been a while but I'm sure between the two of us we can handle it."
He then turned his attention to then girl who walked up, talking about the Pokemon Trainer's Challenge. Frank would have helped her if he could, but he didn't follow rules and regulations and what you have to do to get into the tournaments. He was done with fighting Pokemon, so he didn't much care about how you got in. He still actively watched matches, however, and followed strategy and at least kept up with the big names. It was good to pass the time while working on his stichery.
"I'm sure Rose here can give you detials on where to go next, seeing as you don't need to be given a Pokemon."

Rose nodded to Frank appreciately - they would just have to start without the Professor, plain and simple. The trainers could not be kept waiting, for it simply wouldn't be fair to ruin traveling schedules. She only hoped she could do this...
Clearing her throat, she moved in front of the Pokemon pens, lifting her hands to get everyone's attention and ask for silence. "Good morning, new trainers! Unforunately, the Professor is a bit late this morning, so I will be helping you today. I would like to do this in the most orderly fashion possible - though we will try to get you finished and on your way as soon as humanly possible. So here's what we'll do. I will call you each up alphabetically, two at a time, and give you your supplies, equipment, and choice of pokemon. When everyone has recieved these, I will hold a small - short - conference explaining your journey and answering any questions you might have. Sound fair?" She looked around, then nodded in satisfaction. "Please feel free to converse while we are taking care of business. Alright, here we go then!"
She picked up the clipboard full of trainer names and information from the counter, glancing over at Frank. "Well, lets see if we can do this! Will you help me pass things out to them when I call them up?" She smiled, then looked at the first listed names on the paper. "Daytona Wheeler? Fifi Eve LaClara?"
(OOC: Finally, posted! And for the trainers, I skipped to those who I know are still active here...if you still want to be a part of the rp and you know I skipped you, lemme know.)

Nikki listened to the young woman's explaination and -almost- panicked. This could be problematic...oo; Raising a hand slowly, then not waiting to be called on, she addressed the female manning the show. "Um, uno problemo. I'm not a resident of Littleroot, nor is this my first time on a Pokemon journey, though I am going to put my other Pokemon into my storage box to start this one. Is that going to pose any problem...?" Not to mention, Nikki didn't tell her last name to people. It just didn't roll that way. >>;; She would do everything necessary to start fresh on this journey, as if it was her first, but she wouldn't tell her last name. ...It was a quirk, shutup.

Rose blinked as she was addressed, then smiled. "No problem at all. If you're starting a-new, you'll be starting just like any of the new trainers. You'll simply know a bit more than everyone else, seeing as you're more experienced."

Sweet. Easy smeesy. With a huge smile, Nikki nodded to show her understanding. "Alright. Thank you!" Perfect! Now all she needed to do was put her experienced Pokemon away, adopt a new one, get some guidlines 'n stuff, perhaps a map, then she'd be ready to start the Hoenn adventure!

Daytona cleared her throat softly, and also raised her hand a bit. "I'm not a new trainer either, I'm just new to Hoenn as well. But I didn't come to get a starter Pokemon - I just came to talk to the professor about one of my current Pokemon before I started the gym challenge. I'll just hang back and let you take care of the others first...?" she trailed off.

Rose glanced over at her, then nodded. Wow, there were certainly alot of experienced trainers this time around...they would probably be better at explaining all of this than she would be!
Glancing down at her list, she called the next name to fill in her second spot. "Hazel Cushing?"

((Sorry I'm late--been in a bit of a tiff with my muse))
Eve glared at the mention of her whole name, she despised it. She almost wished she were a boy, but doubted even then she could avoid the inescapable feminine fate. For all she knew, her mother would have pushed her to be gay.
"I'm here. Eve, just...Eve, please." She said, biting her lip, waiting for someone to answer her question and to find out what she was supposed to be doing. The sooner she and Riley could get out and start getting her a way to survive, the sooner maybe she could go home and forget the whole thing.

((Ooc: shame on me... I forgot what you get when you get a new Pokemon, and I'm a little ill so I'm just going to pretend that I know and say Frank gave them something. I suck at life. Yay.))
Frank was ready, he was excited. When names where called he was all over it, despite the fact that he was miserably older than everyone here. Maybe it was a good thing, new trainers needed some mature adult figures, needed some guidance before they set off into the world.
He handed out what was needed as it was needed, with smiles and a cheerful spirit. The fact that not-new trainers were here made him even happier. He then retreated back to his place by Rose, waiting patiently to her to continue.
