Well, I already talked about this in my intro, but I've decided to extend the story.

It's October, 2005, around 10 pm. I'm walking through Times Square in a trance. I just saw Wicked! My parents are, of course, bickering. Mom wants to get a taxi, but Dad thinks that we can take the subway. But we've already been to two subway entrances and they were both closed off. They stop on the corner and start fighting, because Dad said that he thought the show was boring.

I'm looking away, doing my best to ignore them. Then, I see him. The Norbert Leo Butz, walking through Times Square. He's walking with his head down and his hat over his face, but when he hears my parents fighting he looks up for a minute to see who the lunatics are. It's like time slows down. I think, "Oh, this is so not happening." But yes, he's there. "Oh, this is [i]so[i] happening!"

"Are you Norbert Leo Butz?" I blurt out at him. Kinda stupid, since I was sure, but I didn't know what else to say. He says yes and I say, "Oh my god, can I have a picture with you?"

"I'm kinda in a hurry..." he says, and I plead, "Please? I just saw Wicked!"
"Oh, okay." I yell for my mom to get the camera and she takes the picture, even thought she has no idea who this guy is and why I'm so excited. I can't even remember what happened next, I think I blacked out. I don't remember what it was like when he put his arm around me (!) or what I said to him afterwards. Hopefully I thanked him, since I just practically mugged this guy on the street.

Well, I got the picture printed out and sent it to his theater, and booyah! He autographed it and sent it back! I'm so happy, I'm getting it framed. Norbert gave me the best christmas present ever. I sent him a note with it, I wonder if he read it.

As an afterthought, it's kinda embarrasing, but Mom was yelling at my dad for saying that the show was boring, and then I tell Norbert I just saw Wicked. I hope he doesn't think I felt the same way. When my dad saw him on the Macy's parade, he said, "Wow, I guess that guy really is famous." Duh dad. I think it was kinda a fate thing, because if the other subways had been open, I would have never met him. Ahh, I love my Seymore Butz! biggrin.gif
