[Lazer]

This story is about a "Female Ronin" (a swordsman who serves know one but his or herself).
A Ronin is the opposite of a Samurai (a swordsman who serves for his or her country)
This story takes place in Osaka Japan, in the year 1848: Tokugawa Ara.

On Tenshi's 13th birthday, her mother wakes her up, to get her ready for her birthday party.
all of her friends and family members come to give her gifts, and one boy asks her to be his girlfriend.
She said yes, and they spent the whole day together.

When night fell, ninja invaded and assassinated everyone at the party, this is known as Gyakusatsu (Massacre). Sadly, Tenshi was the only one who managed to escape.
Ninja tried to find her, but failed, she was nowhere to be found.
After escaping, she cried, thinking about the happiest times of her life with friends and family.
She couldn’t help but to remind herself of what just happened this day, and of all days, it happened on her birthday.
She figured as she lives on, she’ll constantly remind herself of her biggest loss.
Due to this matter, "I have nothing to live for now, what is the point of living?"
She thought to herself as pulled out the Tanto (Dagger) her new and now dead boyfriend Hiroshi gave to her as a gift.
The Tanto (Dagger) Hiroshi gave her was meant for self defense, however; she was ready to commit suicide using it. But she stopped as she looked down at a necklace her friend Hana gave her, witch says "Luck" in Japanese Conji, she changed her mind, and put the Tanto (Dagger) away.
She then begins to think about Revenge, but she doesn’t have the courage do it, because she’s only one 13 year old girl, and she would be up against countless foes if she where to oppose the clan of Ninja.
“Only a fool would try and fight a whole clan on her own, I’ll be killed for sure.” Tenshi says to herself, holding her necklace in hand.
Then she thinks to herself’ “I have nothing else to lose, If I am to die, I might as well die in the hands of those who killed everyone I love, as I try to kill them. And maybe, just maybe then, I could avenge the ones I loved most. I don’t have to be the strongest; I just have to be strong enough.”

She then takes her sword in hand, and then she swore she'll get even with those Ninja.

She trains and over trains, to go beyond the limits of her abilities.
She trains until it is impossible to move.
This is what she puts herself through everyday.
She grows older holding in a bitter grudge against the clan of Ninja who were responsible for the deaths of her loved ones. And is willing to throw her life away to avenge them, however; she wants to be sure to do that specific clan of Ninjas a great deal of damage before joining her loved ones in the after life.
Because she does not know the specific name or faces of the ones involved in the assassination, she's ready to take out "the entire clan herself", hoping to complete her revenge alive.
But... she's alone... what are her chances?

She felt that her name didn’t sound like a name that suits a vigilante like herself.
So as she began her quest for revenge, she began to call herself “Josei (Female) Gyakusatsu (Massacre)”!
She introduces herself with this name, each time she begins a fight to the death.

One day, a family of Chinese merchants arrived in Osaka to sell Chinese goods from China.
And with them was a boy named (no name yet). He is skilled in the art of Wu-Shu, (Chinese Martial Art meaning: Disciplines of War) and has an interest in learning how to wield a Japanese Katana.
Every time he saw it, the more he wanted to learn.

But while selling goods one night with his family, a thug attempts to rob the Chinese family of their merchandise, but the family resisted. The boy's mother says "You have to buy these items; we cannot let you have them for free."
The thug replies "then, I'll pay for all of these items with ALL OF YOUR LIVES!"
Tenshi sees this happening from a far, and tries to dash over there to save them, but she's not fast enough to save them all!
While seeing this happening, it reminded her of her past.
She tells herself: "I don't want to see this happen again, I must stop it!"
She only made it in time to save the young boy's life, the boy cries with anger!
The boy now has no family to take him back, and he doesn't know how to get there on his own.
Tenshi accepts the responsibility of caring for the young Chinese boy, and raises him as he where her own.

For a decade (10 years) Tenshi has always locked away her feminine side, along with her sense of humor, due to the Gyakusatsu (Massacre) of her loved ones, however; those feelings slowly reaches the surface of her heart, each day she takes care of the young boy and lives with him.

The longer they lived together the more they learned about one another.
The young boy one day asked Tenshi to teach him how to wield a Katana.
And as payment for her teachings, he offers to teach Tenshi what little he knows about Wu-shu.
Tenshi wasn’t to thrilled about the idea, she thought what the boy knew wasn’t good enough, but the young boy begged her all day.
Tenshi finally gives in, and allows the boy to show her what he can do.
When he was finished, she was impressed!
She had no idea what such a young child was capable of!
Tenshi then agrees to teach the young boy how to wield a Katana.

But first, the boy needs a Katana to wield…

But a Katana cost money, and money wasn’t what Tenshi had a lot of.
In that case, Tenshi and the young boy have to continue to sell the remaining Chinese goods that his family has left behind, in order to afford a Katana.

When they bought the Katana, she’d take him back to the abandoned Nakayama family home, for training.

Tenshi didn’t train the young boy using Shinai, she gave the young boy the Katana, and drew hers, and tells him, “When holding the Katana in hand, one must be ready to die!”
“Ready or not, here I come!” Tenshi rushes toward, the young boy!
The young boy says “Tenshi-san, wait, I’m not ready!” “That’s too bad! HAAAH!” says Tenshi as she comes at him with a horizontal slash!
The boy manages to block the attack and closes his eyes tightly in fear!
Tenshi kicks him, and says, “Keep your eyes open you fool! You’ll die if you can’t see my attacks!”

The boy says to himself, “this lady is crazier than I thought…but she’s right, there’s no better way to train for dangerous situations, other than actually facing danger in training.”
The young boy got back on his feet, stood in his ready position, and glared into Tenshi’s eyes.
Tenshi returned to her ready position, and glared right back at the boy.
She thinks to herself, “I like that look in his eyes; he’s finally ready to die.”
Tenshi smirks at the boy, and says to him “That’s more like it! Now are you going to come after me, or should I come after you again?!”

The boy went after Tenshi, she waits for him to approach her!
The boy swings his Katana toward Tenshi’s left side, Tenshi blocks his attack, and kicks his Katana lose from his hands!
She puts her blade to the boy’s neck and says to him, “You drop your Katana, you drop your life. Now, pick it up and try again!”

The boy looks to his Katana, and picks it up, in the mean time Tenshi seems to have disappeared!
The boy is wondering where she could be.
Then in an instant she reappears, seeming to be out of no where.
She attempts to hit him with the back of her blade, faking her attack to his left side, the boy tries to block but she changed her target to his right side.
He was hit! But he hasn’t been cut, because she used the back of her Katana to attack.
“You’re dead, or you would have been, if I didn’t use the back of my Katana.” says Tenshi, as she puts her Katana away.
“You still have much to learn young man, if you’re going to be living with someone such as myself, you’ll need you know how to defend yourself well.” She told him.
“This very place we sand today, this is a place where I used to find happiness, but all that’s changed when I lost everything.”
“As you could possibly tell by now, I have no family and no friends.”
The young boy is curious to why she has neither friends nor family, so he asks her, “Why not, what happened, where’s your family?”
Tenshi then explains to the boy, what happened on her birthday 10 years ago.
“Ten years ago, I was about your age, I had a party, all of my family and friends came over to celebrate my first day as a Teenager.
There was laughing, playing, great food, I was having the time of my life.

But when night fell, my home was under attack!
And those sons of bitches killed everyone, EVERYONE!
Didn’t leave a soul alive.”
The boy begins to frown, and as Tenshi continues to explain, a tear rolls down her face.
“ I wanted to join them, my family and friends, I wanted to so badly to end my worthless life, but I changed my mind because I looked down at this very necklace.
That’s when I promised that I will even the score!
I will get even with them!”
The boy replies, “So, this is why you’re like this? I just thought you was just being mean, on purpose, now I understand.
You lost your family too, and you want to avenge them.
I would do the same, but you took care of that for me.
Tenshi-san, I promise to stay at your side, and protect you with my life.”
Tenshi wipes her tears from her eyes, and says to the boy, “You wish to protect me at your current level? Hahahahaha!”
“Hey! Why are you laughing at me?!” The boy shouted.
“Okay, okay, I’m sorry I laughed, that was very sweet of you to say to me.
You just reminded me of one of my closest friends.
His name was Hiroshi, *sigh* I miss him…”
The boy replies, “I see…so, ummm… tell me, how you disappeared when I looked to pick up my Katana?”
“Oh, that old trick?” Tenshi asked, “It’s very simple, the moment you look away, that gives your enemy the chance of a life time.
I could have slain you right there if I had chose to.
But instead, I ran to a spot I knew you wouldn’t look to after picking up your Katana.
And that is how you pull of that illusion.
This technique is commonly use by Ninja. ”
Tenshi changes the subject, “So, ready for round 2?”
“Umm… okay, I’ll do my best Tenshi-san” The boy answered.
Tenshi says to herself, under her breath, “I have yet to be impressed.”

They return to their ready positions.
And this time the boy goes for the first attack.
“Foolish move, all I have to do is wait, and counter attack!”
Tenshi thinks to herself, as she waits for the boy to get closer.
The boy attacks with a horizontal slash. And as he is about to land the attack, Tenshi simply steps out of the boy’s path.
She hits him with the back of her Katana again!
“At this point on, you’d have a serious back wound; it would be hard for you to continue to fight! Never let your enemy get behind you!”
