This is definitely not an album I planned on enjoying, but goddamn is it good. It's "neofolk", which I'm not sure you know much about, but it's medieval-inflected folk music that grew from post-industrial music circles. For whatever reason, it feels like an album you'd get a kick out of. Current 93 have two distinct phases (industrial and neofolk) but NWW has always been experimental/noise stuff. Both bands blow my mind. I'm not sure how much replay they're going to get from me, but the saga continues. Also: Check out Comus' First Utterance Freakin' amazing blend of acid folk with prog and some Eastern influences, with complex vocal collaborations and some disturbing lyrics, especially considering this was released in '71.
