Dyre walked slowly through his domain, prideful of his new status as Klan lord and his territory. It was rare that he got time to himself to just think, and so many thoughts went through his mind. It had been about a year since Syre died. He really never took time out to mourn him. Both Myre and Tadz had a proper mourning period but after Syre died Dyre was alone and though he didn’t want to admit it, he hated Syre for dying without him. After all they both planned to die that night and only Syre was that lucky. Though now Dyre felt it was time to mourn him, yes it was time to let go of the anger and concentrate on the memory of his brother. It was funny Dyre continually promised himself that he would stop dwelling on the past and move on but his memories continued to haunt him.
A scent caught his attention abruptly bringing him out of his trance. His lips drew back in anger; he knew this scent, wolf. He managed to calm himself down and tried to asses the situation, though a voice in the back of his mind kept yelling “there is noting to think about! There’s a wolf in your land!” but he tried his best to ignore this voice. He followed the scent to its origin, hiding behind various broken down cars and piles of scrap. He saw the wolf scanning the area for dog. Damn wolf, he thought, it would be impossible for the wolf to find him, Dyre was from a small band of dogs, he knew how to use guerrilla tactics and the one that he used the most was rubbing his scent off on any and everything that could be used as cover. He stalked closer to the wolf only to realize it was just a youth that was lost. How common it was, this was the second to do so the last one had eluded Dyre’s nose though, this one wasn’t as lucky.
Still Dyre didn’t feel it was necessary to take the boy’s life; no instead he would simply have him leave his life. He leapt quietly to the top of an old rusted out truck behind the boy. “You must be lost.” He said to get the boy’s attention, “I suggest that you leave this land though, the Lord isn’t one to appreciate wolves in his land” Dyre didn’t feel it was wise to let the wolf know that he was lord just incase he was a spy for the Aruna’s or they’re supporters. “You should leave the same way you came.”
