Showdown in the Mall

[Dr. Agasa]

It was a nice day, the sun was shining, birds were singing, grass was green. It would be a very nice day to just walk around, doing nothing at all except for smelling the flowers and enjoying oneself. Couples were walking hand in hand, giggling as they entered the shopping mall. People were lounging with friends, licking ice cream cones as they talked with each other. Young kids ran around the mall, whooping with excitement as their parents tried to calm them.

Of course, it was a whole different story if those kids were your responsibility.

So found Dr. Agasa, holding Ayumi's hand tightly, trying to catch Genta as he ran from sweet shop to sweet shop. His poor old heart couldn't take any more of this. Groaning, he stepped up the pace of the group a little, practically dragging Ayumi as he caught hold of Genta's shirt.

A sigh escaped him as tried to gather the group around him again.

His gaze went longingly to the windows, he would give anything to just be alone, or with only Conan and Ai right now.

Heck, even the Black Organization was starting to look good.

(*throws hands up in air* wOOt! Its started!)

[Detective Conan Edogawa]

Conan followed the doctor around the shopping center. He merely lingered, pondering of how he agreed to go shopping with the group in the first place. His hands laid on the back of the shrunken one's head.

He ran to catch up to Agasa when he noticed that he was behind in steps. He snickered when he saw what the kids were doing to him. Genta, running from a candy shop to another. Ayumi, she wasn't going to escape out of the doctor's hands with ease.

Conan shrugged thinking that he might as well enjoy his free time at the mall. He browsed through the shop windows searching for anything of interest. The wonderful land of toys was coming closer into view.

That's our first stop? Conan smiled, looking up at the doctor. With his eyes he signaled the toy store that stood just around the corner.

[Kuroba Kaito]

Meanwhile, at one end of the mall, a crowd of little kids gathered in growing excitement. Their parents stood to one side, eagerly waiting for the show to begin (so that they were able to leave their kids and do their shopping with ease). At one side of the stage was a large sign that had the face of a man in tuxedo and hat and the cheesy words:

Five more minutes, one person told the kids. Five more minutes, and the magician would be around. To be honest, he did not know where the magician had gone to. He should be there in a while.

[Haibara Ai]

Haibara Ai followed directly behind Dr. Agasa and the hyper children, looking into various shops for something of interest. She sighed, wondering why she even bothered going shopping these days. These past few weeks, she had been forced into a lot of pointless activites, such as this one, and was getting tired.

A yawn escaped her mouth as she looked into a clothes store. Beautiful outfits lined the walls and decorated the windows. Ai shook her head, knowing that the store didn't sell clothes her size. She resumed her stroll behind Agasa, wondering when the trip would be over.

[Tsuburaya Mitsuhiko]

Wow!! There so many places to go, where to go first?!

There were a lot of things happening at the mall that day such as the 10% sale on rock candy at the sweet store, the nature shop getting a shipment of binoculars as well as some quartz and geode samples, new Yaiba toys being sold at the toy store, the jewelery store having a special on large gems, and the latest release of Yuusaku Kudo's Night Baron series being sold now at the book store (which had a pretty lengthy line LONG before the stores opened...)

Seems Genta-kun's taking advantage of the candy sale... Mitsuhiko thought as everyone tried to keep up.

Going through the mall, they passed a large board that had all the mall events happening for the month. So, Mitsuhiko letting curiosity take over, paused to look at it.

"Hmm...a live magic show will be performed later today, do you want to go see it?" he asked everyone

[Yoshida Ayumi]

Ayumi stared at her hand that was in a tight hold. She tried to escape, but nothing seemed to work, "Hakase, please let me go. I promise not to run off..." She pleaded for release as she watched the others. Genta was running store-to-store, Conan and Ai browsing through the store windows.

Ayumi led the doctor to where Mitsuhiko stood. She peered through the list and heard Mitsuhiko's request. "Hakase, can we go see the magic show?" She questioned gleefully. She nodded to Mitsuhiko and gave her vote. Events like theses are rare to see, especially when she comes to the mall.

She looked to the others to vote on this event.

[Detective Conan Edogawa]

Conan once again lost the doctor by a few steps, but still lingered about. He sighed as he looked inside some clothing stores. The fashionable outfits of the season were out, but he paid no mind to it.

He stopped after everyone did and read over what interested the children. "A magic show?" Conan skimmed through the list for any other events to keep the children occupied for the day, but none were given.

Conan nodded after Ayumi, might as well... "It seems that it will be starting soon. He looked to his watch and then the board, "Five minutes." He read the rest and looked for the direction. "It's... This way?" He looked to the map of the mall.

"It looks correct. It should be near the end of this area."

[Haibara Ai]

Ai groaned. A magic show...Why? she asked herself. She would rather browse the stores aimlessly.

The blonde shrugged when Conan gave in. She might as well go with the group, even though she wouldn't be that entertained. At least the kids will be occupied... she thought as she lingered behind Conan, Agasa, and the children.

[Yoshida Ayumi]

Ayumi cheered as the majority vote was going towards watching the magic show. She quickly took the doctor's hand and rushed him towards the end of the section. A wave of her hand was issued for the rest to follow.

"I can't wait! We are going to see card tricks, and, and bunnies getting pulled out of a hat... and a disappearing act if he could do one." She stopped, placing a finger to her chin and thought of any more tricks that she saw a magician do in recent television shows.

A crowd was forming nearby. Little kids their age with their parents sitting on the front row seats. She frowned and continued forward so they could look for a better seating place.

"I think this will be a good place." She looked for everyone’s approval before making her decision.

[Tsuburaya Mitsuhiko]

"Yeah, I think we should be able to see the stage from here" Mitsuhiko answered Ayumi.

The crowd was getting restless from the suspence. Especially since a few minutes is a long time to wait for children with short attention spans (not to mention for parents who must deal with their impatient kids)

Just a little while until the magic show!! Mitsuhiko thought excitedly

[Yoshida Ayumi]

"Great!" Ayumi cheered. She counted down the people and proceeded down until everyone had a seat. "Oh, I wonder if they will make a bunny appear... or, or a white bird."

She wanted to ask for the time, but then heard a mother telling her child how many minutes to go. "Hmm… I can't wait that long." She sat patiently, swaying her legs back and forth.
