Kogoro looked at the kid and laughed “Conan your right” he said. “So which one are you going to see?” He said as he looked over to the cupboard and saw DVD’s of detective movies. He tried to see which one Conan was holding, but couldn’t see because the light was turned off. “So which one is that?” He asked, ignoring his first question.

Ran smiled, taking it into her hand and examining it. "This used to be one of Shinichi's favorites... he's supposidly tailing someone right now. The geek hung up on me, so I'm not really sure what's going on with him." she unfurled her arms from around Conan's small form, getting up and putting it in, before slumping back down and cuddling him again. She rested her head lightly atop his, arms around him, one hand interlaced with his.

Kogoro looked at Ran who was sitting with Conan holding him close to her. “Ran stop babying that kid. Sooner or later that kid will turn into one of those kids who want everything.” He turned to Conan that had a comfortable look on his face. He turned back to the television and began to watch the movie.

Ran stuck out her tonuge and held Conan close regardless. "I'll baby him if I want to." She watched the movie flash across the screen, remembering it. This one Shinichi had dragged her out to the movies to see with him a few years previous. She remembered rolling her eyes when he suggested the movie hopefully, but going along with it anyway. For one of Shinichi's detective movies, she actually liked this one pretty well.

Kogoro looked at Ran and whispered “FINE” He turned back to the movie and began to watch. He had never seen this movie before even though he owned it. It began to get intense and he jumped from his seat. “Yes…. Go” he said in the middle of the video. He tried to figure out who the culprit was. In the process he fell asleep on the one-seated couch.

Conan watched in amusement as the movie unfurled itself and launched into the slightly more dramatic scenes. Counting down in his head to ten he acurately predicted when Kogoro would jump up and shout. Chuckling he turned his attention back to the movie.
He smiled as his eyes sparked as the detective came close to making an accurate prediction. Coming to a desicion to shock Ran, at the expense of his secretiveness(er, thats not a word is it?), he looked up and blinked at her innocently.
"Was it the wife and the gardener Ran-neechan? All the stuff the detective collected are pointing to them."
(Ooc: secretiveness... yeah thats deffineatly not a word... what was I looking for?)

She stared down at him, smiling brightly. "Very good, Conan-kun! You're so smart!" she cooed, pulling him close and nuzzling his head gently with a small laugh, before returning to the film. Sure enough, about three minutes later, the dective made the dramatic accusation. Ran had to stifle a giggle. She'd always found it terribly ammusing how they always overdid it so much in detective movies when deciding who it was. A grin played on her lips; the first time Shinichi and her had ever went to a detective movie, she had burst out laughing when they decided it was, in fact, the butler. He had been absolutely furious with her, saying something along the lines of "You just can't appreciate the skill it takes to be a detective!" She had responded by telling him he couldn't either seeing as he was twelve. The grin faded, and she ripped a good chunk of hair out mentally. She was doing it again. Shinichi's phone call had made her thoughts of him more frequent that usual. She hated it, because it seemed she couldn't think about anything without somehow connecting him and whatever it was...

Kogoro woke up near the end of the movie when he heard a police siren to catch the criminals. He looked at the screen then looked to see if Conan and Ran where still there. He turned his attention to the loud television and sat up. He wondered what time it was and how long was he asleep. He looked at his watch and it read 2:30 A.M. he decided that he was only asleep for at least 30 minutes. He knew the movie was going to end soon so, he decided to let Conan and Ran see the rest of the film.

|ooc: Minor Conan stealing so I can finish up this thread...|
Ran, of course, had long since dozed off, far too used to a school schedule to stay up terribly late on purpose. Her head was slightly off to the left side, lips parted slightly to aid in her slow, peaceful breathing. Her arms remained loosely around Conan who had also dozed off. They would stay like that until for quite a while, or at least until Conan awoke and slipped from her sleeping embrace. No one could ever tell for certain what dreams passed through the sleeping girl's mind, but as a small smile worked onto her lips for a moment, it was obviously something quite nice. And if you knew Ran Mouri at all, you could almost guarentee her dreams currently involved a certain detective she was rather fond of...

Kogoro saw Ran and Conan sleeping and decided not to wake them. He saw the ending of the movie. He couldn’t believe his guess was wrong he picked the wrong suspect. He thought how the detective in the movie solved it and realized the mistake he had made. He threw the controller down to the floor accidentally missing the couch. He heard a “thump” and looked if the children had woken up. He was relived. He covered the two with a blanket and went to his room to sleep. Thinking of what will happen the next morning.
