Position requested: 3D Animator
Reason for request: I'm doing no 3D work as of now, and it's getting me antsy. So now I'm basically looking for an excuse to do 3D work. Qualifications: I've done two years of 3D work at the High school level, One year of Maya and one of Max. I've also done some (not alot) of work with the UT2K4 mod system - particularly getting characters and animations into the editor. My focuses are in modeling and animating - though I prefer the latter. But enough talking about me, Let me show you what I can do: Here's some stills of mine.. First: Made in Maya 7. This work utilizes HDR lighting techniques to not entirely their fullest, but damned near: It's the "Hall of Mirrors!" ![]() (By the by, I would have posted the other one, but it broke the boards.) Second: Made in Maya 7. For those of you wondering, this is in fact a 3D render: It's the "Living room". Also, It may be beneficial for me to note that I completed this in a timeframe of just under 4 hours. ![]() Third: Made in 3DS Max 9. Does it look good? Yes. Can you eat it? No. Why? It's digital, that's why! It's a "Bowl of FROOT" ![]() (Yes, the spelling error was intentional. I have... unusual naming conventions for objects.) Fourth: Made in Maya 7. If you've ever played the N64 Zelda games, you'd know this. Another work with HDR, it's the "Gerudo Fortress" ![]() (Yes, that is my own work, painstakingly modeled inside and out.) Fifth: I have done some work outside of the UT engine. In fact, soon after the Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion game came out, I was hard at work turning one of my models into an Oblivion mod. It was one of the first weapon mods for the game: ![]() (The mod has also been put on Gamespot's website) And now, for the videos. I have done all the animation work in these unless stated otherwise. First: This is my most recent work: a 3D remake of the Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny. I did basically everything except Zombie Abe Lincoln's gun, Optimus Prime, Aaron Carter/Abe Lincoln's head, and some of the textures themselves (I applied all of them though): http://youtube.com/watch?v=UO_lOg5k1tA Second: The Curse of Imohentap game trailer. Here, we had an assignment to create a 60 second game trailer. This was my team's entry. I created the old man, did his cloth and hair effects, and keyframed most of his animations, as well as the fight scene right after the old man "melts", and the entire scene when the camera's moving around the head of the guy with no shirt. Also, I did the particle effects for when the man's melting: http://youtube.com/watch?v=z973Bd4jD94 Also, here's a small tidbit of a character that I put into the Unreal Editor. His name is Sappy the Schizophrenic Skunk. Here he's dancing the baby dance to C&C music Factory's "Everybody Dance now". Also inspired the credits sequence to the Curse of Imohentap trailer. http://youtube.com/watch?v=LsS-di7NgQg -------------------- I've gotten into Firefly recently, Excuse me if you see any Chinese in my posts.

Thankyou for submitting a resume, I have to say I'm impressed. Our team will consider your application, it will be decided in no more than a week.
I want to compliment you on your work, especially the Hall of Mirrors kinda blew me away. Also, your Ultimate Showdown video is very impressive (as a sidenote, you have good taste). I feel i should add how good your Living Room looks, and Gerudo Vally, hells all of it. We had actually been throwing around an idea about making an OOT map for a while now. Afraid we won't be releasing anything we haven't started yet until UT3 comes out in November, but it doesn't look like the increased standards in graphics for the UE3 will be much of a problem for you. I know you said you would prefer to be an animator, but we will be considering you for the position of modeler and animator, because at least of late there has been a lot more modeling work than animating. However, we will certainty take your preference into account. I am sure you know, but just to clarify: we are a non-profit mod team and don't really have any financial backing except for what we buy ourselves for mod work (software, books, etc), all of which is covered by our own personal finance, not by the team. Our graphics team currently uses Maya, but 3DS Max is just fine if it is your preference. We operate on a fairly lenient weekly schedule, and go by the policy that education comes first (i.e. we don't require any amount of work per week, only to check the schedule and do what you can). Guess I'll explain it in more detail once we have considered your resume. So, if I may ask, how did you hear about us and why do you want to join? -------------------- |

I actually live in the same dorm as Lunarstudioxk, so he told me about this site and I decided to sign up.
I can also use Maya in addition to 3DS Max, as I spent a year learning on each of them. I simply prefer Max to Maya because of the biped system and Character Studio. As far as the enhanced graphics and UT3 go, I say bring it on. I always try to use each project I take on to better my skills. I would indeed look forward to the opportunity to learn different ways of modeling, texturing, and hell, even animating - if I were accepted, that is. Modeling can be a bitch sometimes, but I'm always looking for ways to make it more bearable. And thank you for taking me into consideration. I look forward to future dealings. -------------------- I've gotten into Firefly recently, Excuse me if you see any Chinese in my posts.

I almost asked if you were one of lunar's friends. Glad to see you're enthusiastic. Well, as I said before, we will be decided in a week. Thanks again for submitting your resume.
