I have been busy lurking and building of late and thought i would share a sample of my progress so far on my blood raven armour for my son,it's my first attempt at costume and working with foam and i have really enjoyed it and can see the passion that can come from it and i hope to do more.

Great Work! A lot of people don't realize that building for the little ones is a lot harder than building for adults.

Kids aren't proportional and it took me a long time to figure that out. Unitl I was walking through the National Museum of Art in D.C. and the tour guide talked about how Michelangelo revolutionized the modern image of the Baby Jesus by painting him out of proportion or in proper proportion to real life babies.

Looks great! I really like the detailing of the aquila on the chest. Your son is lucky to have such a crafty father.

sandy1973 - I attached the elbow guard to the upper arm so when the arm is bent it is still covered,i was going to do the same with the knees but i will attach it to the shin and that way will allow easier kneeling.

I agree chwbcc i also went through the same thing,i had to alter the scale often for different pieces,but that was only after cutting out lot's of pep on my assumption that the scale could be kept the same,still as you say you do figure it out.

I love the gloves. Great work. They look very nice and clean.

That's awesome. Love the detail and how you've done the chest and gloves.
I imagine some parts would have been trickier to scale down to match proportionately more than others and it's looking fantastic!

It was frustrating and tricky at times with the scaling but i have learnt alot and it's been fun,you do need patience with children when doing fittings.

They always would rather be where you want the to be and they never stand as still as you need them to be! LOL

That is why I promise them candy and donuts after we're done with fittings... Then I send them back inside to mommy while I make adjustments... hehehehe

Legs finished this afternoon and pics added,phew and that is the full suit done,it's a good feeling and my son is very pleased,he put the last bit of armour on and said "Dad do you think you could do a chaos one?"

Haha i think i need a little break first,I will have a look at some weapons and give them a go first.

You need to make yourself a deadnought costume :)

You'd be perfectly scaled to your son :P

Awesome work, the paint job is perfect.

Only thing I would say is add a little more detail to the back pack. mostly at the top where the cowling goes over it. Just adding a few circles there would really make it 100% better I think.

Ha,yes a Dreadnought now that would be a project,
thanks for the tip over the detailing,i did this suit in 6 weeks and i can see with a couple of months or more and a bigger budget how much more could be done.
