Administrator Group: Admin Posts: 16 Member No.: 1 Joined: 8-August 06	_{Marauders’ Map 1977 Rules and Guidelines Intro: These rules have not been set to inconvenience our students, or to give anyone more power than another. These guidelines are here to ensure a fun and active community, which runs efficiently. All good forums have one variation of simple regulations, or another. Administrators and Moderators will ensure that these rules are obeyed. If you feel that you should be exempt, or have been wrongfully accused, send a PM to [NIF] Admin to have it resolved. Registering: •Your member name must be the same as your character’s. This includes both a first name and a surname, separated by a space. Do not include numbers, or other unnecessary symbols in your name. (If you have accidentally created an account with an incorrect name, PM an admin to fix it for you.) •Other races must be logical, and pertinent. You may use mythological resources to select a race for your character. (If you wish for your character to be mixed, or of a different race, please post it on the application board. Admins reserve the right to accept or decline your application.) •You are allowed to register as many as two canon characters, and two original characters. If the administration feels as though you are not roleplaying them adequately, some of your characters may be revoked, and given to other members to roleplay. •Ensure that you post your application in the correct forum. Do not post in the Student Directory, these are for Accepted applications only. •You will be granted two days to complete your application, if it is not finished by the deadline, it will be opened up for other members. Forum Rules: IC and OOC posts must obey these guidelines •No racial, sexual, or degrading remarks will be tolerated. •Do not spam the boards. •Swearing is tolerated, however no one wants to see an F Bomb every other line. •Do not double post. •Do not disregard punctuation/grammar laws. (We won’t use Avada Kedavra on you, if you do happen to make a mistake, just ensure that you don’t totally throw proper English to the wind.) •Signature pictures may not exceed the size of 500 x 320. You may only have one picture in your signature, (With the exception of house/club banners) •Please do not use fonts that make people want to poke out their retinas with rusty forks. Role-playing section: •Ensure that your posts feature proper spelling, punctuation, and grammar. •You may not control another character. This is called God-Modding. Example: While in a duel, my character may say that they shot a Bat Bogey hex at you, while your back was turned. I cannot say however, that the hex struck you. •Please refrain from being a Mary Sue. It isn’t plausible that you would be the Prefect of your House, Captain of the quidditch team, a straight O student, and boy/girlfriend of the most gorgeous person in the castle. Half of the fun in character development is figuring out your character’s flaws. •If you have read these rules, when asked in your application, please type Lemon Drop •You may not date another character without their permission. •Romance is tolerated on the board, but if you think it is going to be graphic, please post a warning in the thread title.}
