I know how upsetting and heartbreaking it is when you see the sadness in the eyes of all these dogs in the pounds and in rescue cry
It really DOES tear at your heartstrings as I well know, and my 2 rescue dogs have gone up to 3 ;)

Welcome to NIAR :thanks:

It really angers me that these dogs are just abandoned! Our dogs are part of the family, we dont go on holidays as I dont want to put them into a boarding kennel!

It costs nothing to advertise in a pet shop etc if you no longer want an animal, yet people still dump them!

If I could then I would go get this dog, there is something about her.

I think this girl is safe at Mid Antrim Animal Shelter, I think the pound is just continuing to advertise her to try and help find her a home.

That is a sigh of relief, I get so worked up about things like this. I used to help out at the old USPCA in Ballymoney, many moons ago. I remember we rehomed a poodle from there, she was my baby and I took her everywhere.

RIP Muffin, you were my best mate growing up!

Just looked at the link and that poor wee F GSD looks in a dreadful state cry :banghead:

The people who neglected her should hang their heads in shame, but they won't have a conscience so we are bashing our heads against a brick wall :banghead: :banghead:

I was on the Antrim pound website and there is an Alsation girl on there, shes been there for some time and they now have her advertised at URGENT, if anyone can help this poor lady out of there please act fast she looks like a total doll, she seems to have been neglected she looks pretty slim!

Please don't let this one go :grovel:

I wish I could help but have my hands full.

This girl is in Mid Antrim Sanctuary and has been for several months now I believe. I did contact the warden about her when she was in the pound, but she is unfortunately not reliable with other animals according to Mid Antrim, else I would have tried to help her. I did go and see her at the shelter at the time.

Mid Antrim has a no-kill policy so she will be safe there until she finds a home of her own, which I hope she does as she is beautiful.

Yes Maud is with Mid Antrim at present. As A11ycat said she does not get on with other dogs (not sure about cats) so would probably be suited to a home with no other pets just to be on the safe side.

This little bitch has a tragic look about her which can indicate thyroid problems which would tie in with skin issues. I wonder if the sanctuary have had her tested? Its easy enough to treat and not expensive once diagnosed and on treatment. Could also explain her not being keen on other animals.

Just a thought
