Something doesn't settle well with me about that advert. They are both several months old, and from the pic certainly are not babies, so if they are intact male and female they must have had babies as they are clearly living together. You do hear of naturally sterile piggys from time to time but rare.
Sarah I know how keen you are to help and have great heart for piggys which I think is brilliant but I'm just wondering if you take this girl who is very possibly pregnant where will you be able to keep her and the babies and do you realise if she has any boy babies they will have to be separated from her at 3 weeks old? Plus that could end up being a lot more females for your boys to cope being around. I know how you said your house mates felt so just don't want to see you getting into more than can take in. If they are in Dromore Co Down I might be able to help out. |

Sarah, I would agree with Lesa. It's one thing to foster domestic animals but your housemates may strongly object to pigs. They are notoriously difficult to rehome once they are out of their 'cute' baby phase so fostering may turn out to be very long term.
I would suggest contacting some of the better 'animal friendly' open farms to see if they might be able to rehome them. If so, you could then look at transport etc. |

heyas yeah yous are totally right, i was just worried about her. i think that girl used to breed pigs or something cuz iv seen her name poppin up quite alot. We'll just have to hope their new owners care for them as i know nobody else who would take her.
lesa sure my boys are in seperate room and floor to lily!! so they dont see/hear her! theyre happy as larry just cleaned them out there. im heading down to the sanctuary now as we have a woman from cat support coming at 11. Also 2 kittens died and the vets said that it looks like an air bourne virus that affects the small and weak kittens so i went down the other day and got the isolation shed sterilised and now to do the sanctuary today. This has not.been.a.good.week. |

Sarah's talking about guinea pigs by the way.
I hadn't realised you had been able to keep Lily in a different part of the house. Sorry about my mistake there. I do still have misgivings about this situation if you suspect this person of breeding. If you took the girl and left them the boy and the hutch then if she has bred the girl out might simply take on a baby girl and start breeding again. I find these situations difficult as you want to help the piggys but you could just be freeing up space for them to be replaced with another. Sorry to hear about the situation at the sanctuary and hope gets sorted out okay. |

 Thanks Lesa what a relief! - have been racking my brains all day on who to contact for pig rehoming. We've had success with goats in the past on here - but pigs don't really seem to be as desirable. |
