Yes, our worst fear has been answered. Super Mario Strikers Charged has been confirmed for having Friend codes :(. Your gonna have to enter the 12 digit code while wiping the tears of your face. We can cry together.
After the tears are shed, the game looks to be offering a unique experience of online game play and could very well make itself apart of anyone's game collection.
What do you guys think?

I see the friend codes as uneccesary. Why not sue the Wii Console Numbers?

Turn it in to a GamerTag thing.
That is what I hate about Nintendo. Everything has to be so "safe."

The problem with this is
a) your friends dont have a wii
B ) the ones you get on the internet, are in diffter time zones and never on same time as you
c)takes way to long
d) JUST STUPID!!!!!!!! SHOULD HAVE GAMERTAGS! our at least the choice of gamer tags or, friend codes.

errr ive noticed none of you have mentioned the fact that you can still play online against random people in your region e.g. europe for me, you just need friend code to play against specific and people out of your region e.g. usa for me.
I plan to get this on june 25th XD, straight after my last exam :P.
Advert for mario strikers charged in england looks pretty cool, shows 2 random people going online, then finding that there is a ex famous footballer ian wright (played for shitty arsenal pffft), and his son shaun wright phillips (plays for shitty chelsea pfffft, im a man utd fan :P) are online so they play against them 2on2, and the wrights beat em down.

and way on topic here, So does this mean I need I can only play people in North America online with out friend codes? If so, that's alright I guess.

After playing this game, friend codes aren't that bad. I've play MSC with friend codes and Madden 08 with out friend codes. I find that having lobbies are a pretty good idea, and friend codes come in handy too. Using both in a game would be all right.
