Azeel was accompanied by her dear friend Thalos as she walked down a street that she had been told little about, but enough to be cautious when around it. The Street of The Gods. But Azeel wasn't here to sell her soul. She wouldn't dream of it. And she most certainly wouldn't be cruel enough to sell somebody else's soul either. No, no, no. She was here, infact, to visit a ... church. Yes, a church. She needed to do something and she couldn't put it off any longer.
As she walked down the pathway down the street with Thalos protectively at her side with his head darting in all directions looking for any signs of danger, she couldn't help but notice how casually the Gods walked around here, or at least some which she thought might be Gods. Some she had passed gave her a polite nod to acknowledge her, a few she passed by had smiled and one had even stopped and asked if she was here to infact trade her soul, which he said he wouldn't mind owning with a wink. Azeel replied she was sorry but no, however she did ask for directions, which he-a little disappointed that he didn't get to own such a "pretty lady's soul" as he had put it-gave her the address of the nearest church and sadly watched her walk away. Although she felt a little calmer that she was treated friendly so far, she still had to be on her way and picked up the pace.
As she ran the wind blew in her face and her golden long blonde hair danced in the wind and her blue eyes sparkled in the sunlight's rays. Her white wolf friend bumped into her unintentionally as she came to an abrupt halt. And barked an apology which she could understand, being part animal. Her black furry ears on top of her head twitched, Azeel grabbed her long black tail and smoothed it out (seeing as the wind had caused it to ruffle a bit) she took a deep breath and closed her eyes. She stood in front of the church doors for a moment and remained calm. "Sure you want to do this, Az?" he asked, concerned.
"Yeah," Azeel said, re-opening her eyes, "I'm sure." Then, after she put on a smile for Thalos and patted his head gently, she pushed open the church doors to discover the church was empty. Good. It would make things easier for her. She walked up slowly down the aisle that had rows of seats on either side until she reached the very bottom where she kneeled down before a statue of some sort of Nightside God and she prayed.
"Dear ... ummm," she thought it rude of her not to know the God's name, so she went for something simpler, "Dear, Lord." she put her head down and began to softly speak. "I understand you must be-well, heaps busy and stuff but ..." she realised she must not be saying it right. She sounded like such a kid, she wasn't a teenager anymore. But old habits die hard. "OK, here's the thing, Lord. I'm new to this .. planet of which you are almighty over." she said with the up-most respect. "But I miss home. I understand I can't go back, for there is no way but-" she sighed, "But I just wanted to know if my parents are alright. If their still ..." she swallowed as a lump started to form in throat, "... alive. And I'm not nearly as powerful or great as you dearest lord. Please, although you are not from my world, give them guidance. Keep them safe." She brought her hand up to her necklace that her mother had given her. "Let them know I still love them." she whispered as a tear rolled off her eyelash and streamed down her cheek and fell in front of the statues feet.
She sniffed and got up. "Thank you for your time, wise and all knowing God. All my love. Good day." she farewelled before turning around and wiping her eyes on her sleeve. "Azeel, are you okay? Can I help? Please don't cry! Smile, Az, smile!" Thalos tried to cheer her up. But it was too late, she fell to her knee's and quietly sobbed. She didn't know what to think anymore. Not even the God's could let her parents know she still loved them and as much as she wanted to return ... she had some-what fallen in love here with the most unexpected person, she had gained friendship and she knew of a whole new world. All she needed now ... was for her parents to know she was safe.
